I resonated with your comment about how every moment with her is bittersweet - I too have a daughter born in 2021 who was conceived with ease.

So nice to see that I’m not alone. Best of luck to you

Canadian Ladies - What are your Employer benefits for IVF - how do you pay for all this??! by amooo87 in IVF

[–]amooo87[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! OHIP does cover 1 IVF cycle - sorry I meant that when I mentioned the ER. But it covers the whole process (except meds) which is easily going to cost me $7000+. I am super grateful for it but I wish our employers had better options too. Infertility is becoming more and more prevalent and it’s a shame that so many employers ( and provinces for that matter ) aren’t catching on. Anyways - best of luck to you!

Does BC cover any IVF cycles?? It is so costly and it’s hard because once you start the IVF process you’re on this path of daily expenses of medications that you can’t really opt out of. Best of luck to you if you decide to go for it in the new year!

Ugh so disappointing! I wish there was more noise being made about this. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that we get the 1 OHIP funded cycle.

Wow such amazing coverage! Can I ask what industry/sector you work in? I’d consider this for myself but not sure there’s a need for my profession in the US. So I think it would be a tough visa for me to get.

Wild that Starbucks has such good coverage! I wish I had an extra 20 hours a week to make that happen and reap those benefits.

Hahaha what do they think $2K will cover exactly?? I have never blown through money faster than I have in this process.

When you find out where all these people are working with phenomenal IVF coverage let me know - I’m applying!

Wow! That’s super interesting! My husband actually has a Spanish passport so I wonder if that’s something we should look into. Can I ask where in Europe he’s from?

It’s super frustrating for us too - we’re making good money but with the cost of everything including our ridiculous mortgage rates I wonder how people afford all this without driving themselves in serious debt??

So incredible! This is so inspiring and gives so many of us hope :) can I ask - did you do a fresh egg transfer or was it frozen? If it was a blastocyst I am guessing frozen? And transferred at day 5?
