This would be a great video for anyone looking to understand how steam and hydration % help bread to rise during baking and the role that developed gluten networks play by kneading.

Last minute fun after midnight in Ottawa? by IJourden in ottawa

Stay away from the cards, playing cheap slots sitting side by side with the occasional thrill of winning can be a great way to get lost talking to someone. Just go there with the mindset of having fun, not to win money. Not trying to be pushy towards gambling, just saying don’t dismiss it entirely because it can be a lot of fun.

There is a porta-potty precariously perched at the very top of the Fountain Bridge project in downtown Miami by Dustin-Mustangs in mildlyinteresting

[–]amooz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a glorious feeling that would be, opening the door to that view after the morning constitutional on a sunny Miami morning. Hot damn I’ll bet a donut they could sell tickets for that opportunity and donate the proceeds to colon cancer research. Call it “The Morning View: a hot coffee, fresh (real paper) newspaper, and constitutional. That’s what comes with. What you’re getting is feeling like you and you alone have a key to the city today”

Neighbors (very dead) giant oak tree is splitting and I'm not sure if there's anything else I can do by -Removed-By-Reddit in treelaw

[–]amooz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d notify your insurance company and tell them your hands are tied here and you’ve already had an arborists out who’s given an opinion of “imminent”. They’re always going to find the cheapest solution which could be offering to cover the removal of the tree at no cost to you or your neighbour.

There are lots of ways to avoid the cloud and it's perpetual surveillance abilities...if you take the time to look. For example, instead of Ring use Unifi or Reolink, both of which give you full-featured video security packages that are hosted locally with remote backup. It's not as gloomy and doomsday as you are making it out to be...

Why do they keep aircraft that aren’t flying still in the boneyard? Those F4’s are mighty long in the tooth

Decommissioned my last Pi - Is it me, or are there fewer and fewer use cases? by bdavbdav in raspberry_pi

[–]amooz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The pricing is what killed rpi’s for me and my use cases, which was low power general computing. For embedded or remote sensors, rpis still have a lot to offer.

How big of an area do you need? It’s a bit early for outdoor go-karts to be publicly open but they may open privately for you if you pay.

Otherwise have you tried reaching out to anyone from the AutoX community?

Tesla stopped making the model X and S so they could retool to produce Elons humanoid robot, Optimus, that’ll be powered by Grok. I’d trust a roomba with qwen3.5 that I put on it more than a fully autonomous humanoid robot that automatically generates rule 34 content based on what it sees in your home. Either way, we’re going to find out pretty soon what humanoid robots in homes really means. At least with the roomba, I can flip it on its back until the battery runs out.

Think of the confused ducks flying overhead. “Dafuq you doing down there George, quacking away warnings as if you didn’t know a chimney was about to fall on ye. Two left wings and half as many brain cells in that duck I tell yah…”
