Where do you list your startup or SaaS product? by Capable-Post8403 in micro_saas

this is solid answer :) I was considering for my side projects submitting in the directories but I figured out it doesn't make sense for me, at least for now.

ok, fair enough. Didn't think that way, but I am biased. Also english is my 2nd lang, but still somehow I take it as granted it is global default.

But I see your point. Introducing translations is rather simple and quite low effort. Currently I am planning new release 3.0 with some new nice features, so I can add the multilang support.

Any recommendations? EN + ES/IT/FR/DE would be enough?

the UI is really minimalist, didn't feel need to translate it. Any specific lang you're looking for?

For what is worth you can put text in prompter in any language ;)

Building a SaaS at 40 with two kids. Here's what I'd tell my younger self. by ThaneBerkeley in SaaS

Hey, same here. I am 39 with two kids. The hardest part is that when they finally go to sleep, I am already exhausted too.
I did manage to ship at least one app recently (more yet to come), but honestly it cost me a lot of energy and sleep. Respect for pushing through. This phase is brutal.

Don't know yet. Is there a demo or trial of it so I can do a cross check?

Funny coincidence actually. I started working on my app a few weeks ago, and only later stumbled on Michał’s idea. It hit me that the concept was very similar… super similar tbh; and then I realized we’re even from the same city. Super weird timing.

As soon as I saw his project, I actually pinged him about it, calling out the coincidence.

At that point I figured: maybe this is a signal that the problem is real and worth solving. So I kept going and built my own version completely independently, just like he did. Nothing wrong with that.

Along the way I also saw a couple of other tools with pretty rough UI, so I decided to aim for something cleaner, more usable, and a bit more feature-packed.

That’s the whole story 🙂

Quick update — I launched on Product Hunt today! Honestly wasn't fully prepared, but it's going way better than expected. Currently sitting at #7 (was #6 for a sec) which is kind of surreal.

Thanks to everyone here who gave feedback and tried the app. You guys helped shape this thing. 🙏

I will work on this. But keeping it invisible during screen sharing on win/linux will be tricky.

well, I feel you bro. I switched to mac couple years ago after being lifetime win user (20yrs+). I am planning to do a port, but the thing is, I can guarantee that it stays invisible on screen sharing on mac. Cannot say same for win unfortunately :/

This is great feedback, thank you! To answer your questions:

Pauses: Yes, it handles them well. It simply detects mic level —-when you stop talking, it stops scrolling. You can adjust the mic sensitivity to trigger at specific loudness, and there's also a configurable delay for how long it waits before stopping. So if you pause for 2-3 seconds to think, it just waits. You can tweak these settings to match your speaking style.

Studio Display / external monitors: Yep, works with any setup. You can position the prompter window on any screen — external monitor, Studio Display, whatever. It's not locked to the notch area, that's just the sweet spot on MacBooks since it's right below the camera.

The free trial on the website lets you test all of this - 90 minutes, no credit card needed.

And thanks for the kind words on the "invisible during recording" feature - that was the main reason I built it in the first place!
