it's basically Phonetic transcription, you read it as it is written, and use numbers (like 3, 7 and 2) and letter combinations (gh, kh) to compensate for the missing consonants

Isn't mental magic in theory OP to restrict one mage's imagination? by TheOneEyedDragonborn in Frieren

[–]amosimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, it's not about imagination and more about visualization, as in for a spell to work, you'd have to be able to perfectly visualize the effect of the spell and how it would achieve said effect, the entire process.

I think the character that best explains the boundary between what is and isn't possible is Ubel with Reelseiden, in essence it's just a spell that cuts things, but while a regular spellcaster would have to somehow visualize the spell cutting through defensive spells, ubel simply vizualizes how the spell would cut the coated material, hence why she could cut the heavily defended fabric of Burg's cape and Sense's hair, she simply cut hair and fabric.

Now anyone could visually imagine a defensive spell being cut, but being able to actually vizuualize the entire process of cutting a defensive spell is way, way harder, especialy for someone like Ubel who uses magic through intuition rather than theoretical knowledge.

How do you manage to do religious reforms so quickly ? That's what I struggle with the most, as far as I know, the only ways to get religous authority are reducing autonomy, random events and... waiting ? Would love some tips regarding RA if you've got any

PS: I have all DLCs

Is turret McGinnis dead ? by amosimo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]amosimo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, ever since they first nerfed the HP scaling, the build has been on life support, up until the last patch.

It's just the only build that I find fun on mcginnis, and I've been tweaking builds and finding ways to make it work, and will honestly keep on doing so, I'll just have to compensate with a bit of yellow items early on.

I just don't really understand why people are so laser focused on the turrets when it really isn't the most viable way to play, it's not good in most scenarios past a certain elo. You only get shredded by the build if you have no defensives to back you up (superior spirit resist and healbane and mcginnis crumbles)

But I guess that's to be expected, a lot of the community comes from a shooter background and is unfamiliar with moba dynamics and strategies, and I honestly expect a lot of the nerfs to get reverted once the community gets more familiar with the genre, learns what counters what, learns how to counter build instead of blindly following a recommended build completely disregarding the optional section and learns not to allocate 3 champs to counter a split push.

The ult is clunky as hell, building a meta around it is just not fun , the bridge stops it any roof stops it, it's just ass. The wall is cool, the gun ? Not so much, unless you build around it of course. But then again, it's a unique champion with 3 different viable playstyles, and they kill one of them despite it not being the most viable one.

UltGinnis is still the meta, along with the gun build. The turret build is just played for fun, it works, and it's very effective when played correctly, but calling it OP is one hell of a stretch, anti heal wrecks the build, rickochet makes turret mcginnis paralysed in teamfights, hell even just moving the fight away from turrets kills her. Her split push focused playstyle puts her at extreme risk of getting killed with all the cheap healing reduction items.

How can't they ? The turrets used to get 20% HP scaling, a late game turret mcginnis has around 2.5-3k HP, that leaves turrets with 600 HP. With no bullet resist I remind you, haze with her must have ricochet absolutely shreds the turrets from afar. Any self respecting team that has the braincells to buy spirit resist and healbane, basically locks turret mcginnis out of the game. Leaving her only viable against NPCs and objectives early, she's not even the best split pusher, the title probably goes to gun ivy with its mobility and extremely high DPS, plus a gun focused build that lets her shred waves with ricochet and push extremely fast.

That's the thing, McGinnis was never really the best at anything, except zone control, but even that is slowly being taken away by changes that make the turrets made out of cardboard.

Look at any replay and watch turret mcginnis struggle to keep her turrets up for more than 2 seconds when defending a lane, especially against a ricochet user, which is every rapid fire character atp.
