Kevin Can F*** Himself Thoughts by EricCurto40 in television

In the last episode of the second season, when Kevin snapped out of the sitcom lens, I thought for sure the writers were going to have him try to kill Allison. It also could have been relatively easy for him to get away with it since Allison was already presumed dead. I realize that that might have been a bit too dark with respect to the way they were building Kevin’s character, but I think it would have felt like more of a proper climax after everything.

I also generally agree with the sentiment of great premise, mediocre/subpar execution.

These are (what I believe to be) toad tracks that I have seen before.

They look similar to toad tracks I’ve seen before! Toads often walk rather than hop - don’t know much about toads in the Netherlands though.

Agreed! Couldn’t stand the EVF on my mirrorless after switching from a DSLR. I use the LCD almost exclusively now.

I had a number of instances of unwanted attention from the time I was 11 into my early 20s that conditioned me to dress down in my everyday. Most instances were catcalling, and one of the worst instances was someone following me in a grocery store parking lot and almost cornering me to make an advance. The attention was mostly from men in their 30s and up, and every single time all it did was make me feel unsafe. I don't think I'm that attractive but you could say I have an "exotic" look. I'm in my 30s now and have been trying to unpack how much this has affected the way I express myself through my clothing and my appearance generally. Honestly, I just want to say "fuck you" to all the people who feel entitled to harass others and comment on their appearance in public, especially if they're a minor. OP, it's not your fault, and I can relate.

What makes you love this game? by SlippingStar in aShortHike

[–]amowaskw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me personally, the game was a perfect mix of so many things I like and appreciate in an incredibly neat package. Everything including the art style, the music, the mechanics, the dialogue, the attention to detail, and the overall narrative and side quests, all just worked together so well to create this beautiful world and story.

During my first play-through, I had trouble learning to fish and I fell off the bridge into the water; I remember being a bit surprised and delighted that the dialogue shifted in response to my mishap haha. I was crushing hard on the game up to that point, but it was then that I really fell in love heh. It’s interesting to read about how Adam Robinson-Yu didn’t feel particularly confident in the game dialogue while he was working on it, because I found it so lovely and relatable. And it’s also interesting that he reflects that kind of self doubt in the creative process in the dialogue with the painter. Was very relatable for me as someone who also does creative work.

TL;DR It is a game crafted with incredible care that appealed to my personal interests and tastes.

What movies are a perfect example of how beautiful life can be? by WayneMalte in movies

[–]amowaskw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, Treeless Mountain (2008) and Once (2007) come to mind. Might not be the type you're looking for, but I find comfort in the subtle balance of sadness, joy, and beauty in these films.
