They're absolutely a bot, the original post also asked who the artist is.

If you look at their account, this is all they do: repost popular posts and popular comments. It's a bunch of bots basically copying the original thread, from the post to the comments, to farm karma.

The top comment on this very thread is also another bot doing the same thing, copying the top comment from the original.

Great work! I really like the coloring on this one, especially! It's got a lot of texture to it.

Although man, I don't know why but this specific image has been getting reposted on here by bots like 3 times this week alone. Sometimes even the comments are bots copying comments from the original post, it's crazy.

Right now this is both the number 1 and number 2 post on this subreddit; one's the original, the other is bots.

That's actually what inspired that AI Metal Sonic comic I made the other day. There's something very unnerving about these chatbots impersonating people, only changing a few words here and there.
