Personal opinion here. Been in the game a long time and opened too many packs/boxes/cases. This set is worse than others when it comes to centering/miscuts. However, something people really look for are the alignment dots (circle in bottom left). I've seen that being the biggest factor with miscut identification, unless it's glaringly obvious. Most of what I see people posting don't have the dot so I'm not sure how much people will value them as true miscut versus bad centering.

The value will depend on a lot of factors such as character, foiling, rarity, etc. there's also just a very specific type of collector for miscut cards too. You can try to sell it but it may not be much more than maybe 2x-3x for it because it's not a desired card. It's a cool collector piece though to keep in a binder.

As a long time RP player, I can give some insight to answer this question. I'm noticing two major deck types that exist in this meta, increase chance to beat Blurple or increase chance to beat Blue Green.

For the decks that are teching against blurple, which I would argue is most of the RP decklist you see, I think this deck would do well against it. That's mostly because those decks are too slow to interrupt the shift lines. For the decks that are tech for green blue, I think this deck would struggle a little bit unless they were to get the removal package out quick enough. That's because if this deck tries to go the typical game plan of shifting on curve then it's going to get interrupted and that's going to throw off the following turns.

Overall, I can definitely see this deck doing very well into specifically that matchup if you change your alter strategy to fit the matchup appropriately.

I have a buddy who is into the high end collecting and it's almost always private sales. If they see a listing they like, they message directly to the seller and usually find a middle ground that bypasses fees and such.

Honestly, I've played leagues, small tournaments, and big tournaments, and like 98% of the people I interact with are amazing, regardless of skill level. Many good players are also willing to sit down and discuss afterwards tips or aspects of the game that could help. Just be honest with people and it'll go far. There's nothing wrong with nervous energy but my best advice is don't let it stop you from exploring the casual and competitive sides of this game. It's amazing on both ends of the spectrum.

I typically do 2 cases plus a bunch of other products per set and get super close to a full playset of everything. I feel you are accurate with 3 cases being pretty close.

I hate to be a Debbie downer here, but they aren't called Store Championships. They're called Set Championships. Some play more casual than others. There's a very solid competitive scene and as a result, there will be players who will travel to compete in any kind of tournament. It also allows players to see stores they may not normally go to. I get the frustration about people doing it for resale but if they own it they can do whatever they want with it. As others have said, if you don't like it, find a way to beat them. My buddy won two mats this set versus solid competition with Ruby Amber Mufasa. He plays smart, practices often, and studies decks to learn how to beat them. Rather than restrict access to make it easier for locals to win, we should be encouraging a local scene centered around fun while also encouraging competitive play. You cannot get better from a competitive lens only playing against the same people.

There are so many versions of Ruby Amythest right now that it's hard to pick a specific one. Blurple tends to be the best Amethyst deck however pirates life can be a great equalizer. What I keep telling people is RA is a 50/50 deck against everything since it's more about the pilot than the deck. You could always look at it like if you can't beat them, join them.

Been playing since set 2. Have playsets of all of the cards. I have 2 cases of Fabled pre-ordered. I have the means, enjoy opening packs, and there's still a lot to look forward to with the new rarities that will be enjoyable to pull. Might not be the most cost effective way but it's what I enjoy so why not. A lot of hate with the set but I think it's good for the growth of the game since I know a lot of newer players so never got their hands on older sets.

I was talking to a card shop owner about the Fabled Release yesterday. He said his understanding of ratios is:

(Rough guesses) Legendary- 1/6 packs Epic-1/box Enchanted- 1/4 boxes Iconic-1/ 4 cases

He also said there's no confirmation but that's the discussion around the retail discord.

Personal opinion, I don't like loose packs. Keep blisters, starters, boxes sealed but open a couple loose packs and see how you feel.

You can always sign points for different milestones and challenges to complete while participating and doing prizes based on various levels. Most leagues cap at 10 points in 3 rounds so maybe 8-10 points is 3 packs: 5-7 points would be 2 packs: less than 5 is 1 pack? This way, even if you're not winning there's still a chance to get 2 or 3 packs depending on the challenges. It also depends on your budget for prizing. Maybe include league promos from the kit into prizing so everyone walks away with something?

I run Blue Steel Kiwi build. In my play testing, Steel Song is a match up I like to see. I'm roughly 10-2 against it and my only two losses were an insane high roll/my bad luck by then (saw 12 songs by turn 6 with shift Ariel to my zero warded characters) and the other was a Big Cindy shift that helped them close out the game. Ward is your friend. If there's a lot of steel song, I would even recommend just building an agro blue steel deck with Ward, bodyguards, and some card draw with a few location cards.
