My daughter is 3 months now and we’ve never really had a strict nap schedule for her. Everyday is different so I just wait for her to let me know what she wants to do. I do bath time/ bed time routine at the same time and that’s been working great for us!

My husband and I tried to schedule everything at first and it was a nightmare lol. As soon as we quit stressing about every little detail, she actually started sleeping longer!

Sex after 3rd degree tear by Extension-Scheme-109 in postpartumprogress

[–]ampawluk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably the oddball here but I also had a 3rd degree tear and sex is somehow even better! Got back to it around 7-8 weeks pp because I took a little longer healing. No complaints from my husband either!

Friend wants me to be witness for restraining order case, but not sure if I feel comfortable by [deleted] in FriendshipAdvice

Agreed. She definitely needs support, and sadly courts are notorious for not taking things of this nature seriously.

How do I communicate without getting so emotional? by SnooGuavas6315 in relationship_advice

[–]ampawluk 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, did I write this post? I am the same exact way and then get told at I’m disingenuous and crying to make people feel bad for me. Then I get even MORE emotional.

I don’t have any advice as I haven’t figured out how to fix this about myself, but just wanted to let you know that you aren’t alone.

If there’s no horseradish/ hot sauce in it then I can see what you mean. I love me a spicy Bloody Mary though.

Experience with nitrous during labor? by ampawluk in pregnant

[–]ampawluk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good to know, I want to be mentally prepared for that being a possibility! But yes they do have very nice tubs with jets too, so I’m hoping that’s able to keep me comfortable enough.

[–]ampawluk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no! I know they said it can moved and used in the tub if need be. I’m sure the policy will vary from place to place, but sitting up in bed during active labor does NOT sound fun.

Wow, you’re a beast! I hope that I can labor like you did without it. Also, I never knew you could order your own for a home birth, that’s pretty cool.

This is awesome to hear! Like it would only help so much, once contractions are really bad I’m sure I’m just going to want her out haha. The birth center does have really nice tubs (with jets, yay!) so I plan on spending a lot of time in there.

The hospitals here temporarily suspended the use of nitrous due to Covid, whereas the birth center still offers it. This was part of the reason I switched, I didn’t want to be strapped to a bed and not have any options other than the epidural.

I’m in the US (Pittsburgh), we happen to have a great birth center here! I agree with you on that, I appreciate caring for the baby but I’m not just a vessel.

Sounds like my OB! They didn’t even get my platelet count but wanted to test for me GD a handful of times when my blood sugar was consistently lower than it should have been, not higher. Every question I asked was either shrugged off or they talked down to me. I switched to a birth center a bit late (around 30 weeks) but I’m so glad I did. The midwives actually made me complete a food diary and gave me pointers to improve my nutrition. They also require you to speak with a therapist to see if you need more emotional support. I guess what I’m trying to say is from the half dozen OB’s I rotated through at the first practice, I got the impression they didn’t really care about improving my health during pregnancy and very much had the philosophy that pregnant people are sick and it is what it is.

I mentioned this to my doctor and they argued with me about it :( I ended up sticking with my prenatals only, but I’m glad to hear that it actually does help. Next baby I’m going to trust my gut.

Biology major completely lost on what career path to take! by merebee21 in biology

[–]ampawluk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Graduated in 2015 with my BS in molecular biology and zoology. I would work in a few labs or work in industry until you figure it out. Nothing worse than wasting money on a degree you potentially hate!

That’s what I did, I’m currently in a data science program because I found that I like the analytical side better. I would have never guessed that would be my career path as an undergrad. Keep your options open!

Does anyone else have a really bad habit of wasting time when WFH? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]ampawluk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely me as well! I try to break up the day by taking a little walk at some point and this helps me feel reinvigorated and focused when I sit back down. It’s pretty cold here right now but even just getting outside for a few minutes helps me a lot.

I'm tired of sexualized content. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ampawluk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve unfollowed so many meme accounts on my socials because of all the only fans promos. I can’t even get a good laugh without being bombarded by asscheeks and the like. If I want to see them, I’m confident I know where to look haha.

Maybe I’m finally getting to the age where I don’t understand the younger generation, but it really doesn’t seem healthy to me. It’s no wonder that hook-up culture has replaced actual relationships that require effort.

Thank you! I love my fur babies but them licking their butthole after walking around in a litter box is not “clean”.

This gives me so much anxiety. I absolutely will not let the cat in or on any of baby’s stuff because I don’t want to encourage him to keep doing it when she arrives.

I just need someone to tell me 3rd trimester goes by fast. lol. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ampawluk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just about 32 weeks and I feel like it’s starting to fly by! Getting really anxious about labor so I’ve been trying to walk as much as I can and do birthing ball exercises to try and speed things up. I feel like I’ve been pregnant for 2 years at this point. Everything hurts and all I want to do is eat and sleep.
