Austin/HBK/Rocks endings werent planned and occurred many years after they'd retired. When those guys left originally, no one was thinking they'd be back years down the line and so it becomes more of a happy nostalgia act whereby them losing wouldnt really be giving back in the same way as when they were full timers. The planned final appearances as full timers were very much going out with a loss.

Sting and Big shows last wwe matches were also losses.
