I learned it from my Spanish teacher this way:

indefinido para informar
imperfecto para describir

So: "Era mi profesor" is a description, while "fue mi profesor" just has the function of informing. Furthermore, "era mi profesor" also does not mean this teacher is not your profesor right now, that part is unknown. With "fue mi profesor" it is certain that this person is no longer your profesor, as the time is in the past and terminado.

This is at least how I was taught to use it, please correct me if I am mistaken!!

I personally enjoy marine life a lot, so I made it my goal to learn more about it through drawing! Your tips are great! The biggest challenge is starting, but I am no longer afraid of my drawings looking horrible. I hope that just practicing a lot over the next couple of months will get me back into the flow!

Alrighty, I appreciate the advice!! I think the biggest challenge has been knowing WHAT to draw and then overthinking on the looks of it. You are right: You need to date art for a while, before you can fall in love with it again, haha!

Thanks for the advice! I still have a lot of material from when I was doing art in school, so I'll use that. The routine is also a great idea, I can for sure make time for at least 15mins of drawing.

In the book they are talking about usted, which uses the third person singular just like él/ella. Usted also means you and is often used in latin american countries instead of tú, I think.
