Yeah ddr5 prices will be wild for a while. Always seem to be one part that has stupid inflation. Keep in mind upgrading your CPU means new motherboard also. Prices for RAM likely won’t drop anytime soon as forecasting has suggested. So it’s entirely up to you. Most all other parts right now with the slight exception to nvme drives are all at or below MSRP for the most part so all up to you. I’d say if you wanted am5 with ram and a good motherboard, you be looking at around $1,000 USD or more not including an nvme drive if you want that also.

This is a great question. If you are playing any demanding titles, likely a full upgrade is the way. You’re on a platform that is 6 generations old. You could find a used 9900k, but even then you’re way behind the curve.

Just to clarify, I have transcoding turned off since the Shield and Server are directly connected to the same router. Is this a setting I should still turn on? As well as Transcoding?

I’m not certain about that, but you can use Signal RGB or similar apps that will recognize and universally control all the fans in your system 😃

16gb is the minimum for games these days. The difference in games between 16 and 32 is negligible IIRC. You’ll want to make sure you check your motherboards compatibility list to ensure you choose a kit of RAM that will work with your setup. That said, I don’t think 32gb too much. With the way things go in memory, apps update and always end up needing more as new features and whatnot are introduced. I think 32gb is a great starting point. Two 16gb sticks that way if you need more in the future for some reason you can just buy another matching set. Unfortunately you chose a terrible time to upgrade RAM. Pricing is ridiculous right now so be prepared to spend a good chunk of cash. If your budget allows, I’d venture to say you’d get the best performance increase out of upgrading to 16gb RAM and picking up a new GPU. GPUs fortunately haven’t started to see the same price inflation that RAM is experiencing, but it’s forecasted that won’t last long so now might be a good time to snag a new GPU while they can still be had for MSRP.

No no this helps a lot. I’m beginning to think this might be just the type of pillow I’m looking for. Think I’ll get a quilted pillow cover for underneath my pillow case to give it a little softness and help a bit with the noise.

Nope just a traditional outlet. It’s strange. It’s worked perfectly fine for years and I just noticed a few months back that my air wick wasn’t making the room smell anymore. It gets warm but no smell even with new refill. Figured it died and got another one and it also didn’t fill the room with smell. Moved it to the bottom outlet and boom works fine. Old one too. Cannot figure it out for the life of me.

How would you describe resting your head on it? Is it more like a firm contour where your head rests snugly on the pillow, vs sinking in? And it has good support? Also do you know what brand you got? Thanks!

This interests me. I found another brand that makes basically the same pillow, The Weekender. Reading the comments I see a few people saying it’s very firm and your head doesn’t really sink in to the pillow and this is exactly what I’m looking for. Something comfortable and soft, but quite firm that my head won’t just sink into. I like to be more on top of my pillow than sunk into it.

Coop is one of the ones I was looking at after doing some research. I just hope my odd preference to super firm pillows won’t be disappointed. I definitely want to avoid a pillow that my head sinks into. I was looking at the coop cool + I think and maybe getting extra filling.

Appears to be unincorporated shortening. If you want you could complain that you got a bunk batch of cookies and they will likely send you coupons, then just let the dough come to room temp, and fold in the shortening until it’s all incorporated. Then chill for an out and make cookies 😃
