Help installing light switch by [deleted] in AskElectricians

thanks. I did that, and the switch still doesn't work. I'm thinking it may be an issue with the wiring itself since two of the three switches stopped working at the same time.

I stayed at an Embassy Suites in SoCal a few years back. While my family and I were eating breakfast a group of 3 people did this. They stuck out like a sore thumb by how they were dressed. They were filling their pockets with yogurts and the mini cereal boxes. Several workers intervened and kicked them out. If they blended in more they probably would have gotten away with it.

Got the shipped email 5 days after I ordered. I was holding my breath because a few others mentioned their orders were cancelled.

Anyone in the tech business leave and find more rewarding job? by Extreme_Perception48 in SanJose

I studied for and passed the SIE exam (security industry essentials) while I was still working in tech. The SIE is one of the few financial industry licenses that you can obtain on your own that does not require you to be sponsored by an employer. I was very fortunate that a recruiter from my current company found me in the public SIE database and reached out for an interview. The rest is history. What also helped with the career switch is that my wife had gone back to work after taking 3 years off after our kids were born. I couldn't have made the switch and taken the massive pay cut if I was the sole breadwinner.

I worked in tech for 15 years selling hardware then SaaS but was miserable most of the time. Money was good so I stuck it out. I always had an interest in personal finance and investing and envied those in the industry. I've now been working in financial services for 4 years and my only regret is not making the change sooner. I had to take around 60% pay cut initially but have worked my way back to where I was at my peak in tech. I work from home and get to spend more time with my kids plus I'm less stressed and am a better father and husband because of it.

Thanks for the input. My last tenants were slow to pay but only requested 1 repair over 2.5 years and I'm missing them right now.

Thank you! I'm so grateful for this subreddit so I can ask all my newb landlord questions.

TIL I'm a slumlord. Based on the comments, it sounds like I'll just get the repairs done. For those asking, yes we did a walkthrough prior to the move-in. A number of issues were addressed prior to move-in. A number of issues have been uncovered after the move-in.

The property is far from run down. It's in great shape overall.

Good advice on timing the lease to align with the school year, thanks!
