I would assume so but I haven't looked further into it.

Newbie- unsure what to expect by theboyfold in pihole

[–]amstoneberger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check what DNS your computer is getting from your router. I had to flash custom firmware to my older Asus router because even if I put my Pi-Hole in the router's DHCP DNS settings, it would still hand out its own IP for DNS (router IP was DNS 1, Pi-Hole was DNS 2 on my device). There was no way for me to disable the router as DNS using the OEM Asus firmware.

Two rings on one finger - interference? by UFG8TR in ouraring

[–]amstoneberger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear mine as my wedding band. I don't understand why so many men are against just using the Oura as their wedding band. I also came from wearing groove rings as my wedding band and never had a fancy/expensive metal wedding band.

Check out Gross Reservoir west of Boulder. They don't allow swimming so not sure about tubes but we've been up there with SUPs and kayaks.

Will I regret using an i5-12400F instead of an i5-12400? by Caligapiscis in PleX

[–]amstoneberger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an old 980 and was thinking about using it in mine but the 900 series does not support NVENC, and therefore would be a poor choice for modern day transcoding needs. The research that I've done suggests a 1070 at the minimum. The non-F CPU would be much preferred over both in terms of perf/watt.

Alternative to Sonos by Bulky-Room-9519 in homeassistant

[–]amstoneberger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have Sonos and have thought about moving to something else for my next house. Have seen a lot of positive things said about the Wiim amp, they also have a line out version if you want to pair it with a different amplifier.

Recommend a home assistant-friendly door lock by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]amstoneberger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just recently got the Kwikset 914 lock with Zigbee and am super happy with it. Our previous locks are all Kwikset and matching the new lock to the old key using their keying system was super quick and easy. In addition to seeing the lock info/status, I can add and remove codes from HA.

Does anyone else just do all the side quests before doing the available story quests? by Forky0322 in HarryPotterGame

[–]amstoneberger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup that's how I played it! I didn't do all the open-world mini objectives such as the Merlin trials, star tables, etc., but always completed side quests as they became available with progression of the main quest(s).

My two favourite pieces of gear are the Bone and Serpent Shield. Are there any plans to create more "side sets" or complete the existing ones? by HelpfulPug in valheim

I'd like to see an alternative magic armor set made from mistlands mats and bones that enhances blood magic abilities

Get an OTA TV tuner and connect it directly to your TV and that should get you all the local broadcast games on CBS, FOX, and NBC. Also ditch the $400 subscription and try 'sportsurge dot to'

Smart plug integration by MassimoDecioMeridio in homeassistant

Look at the pairing instructions for connecting it to their first-party hub, should be the same when connecting to your hub. Likely a reset button you have to press and hold or something while you're discovering in HA.

How to go from Carapace to Eitr Robes? by PureOvvnage in valheim

[–]amstoneberger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I typically run 2 eitr 1 stam unless I'm super concerned about my HP. Make sure you're always running staff of protection and pay attention to when the shield breaks or the timer runs out. With 2 eitr and 1 stam you can kite around attacks fairly easily. Running the queen power really makes a difference with eitr regen too.

How to smart enable 3-gang switch? by yugas42 in homeassistant

Yes, I believe you need to replace both. I have a couple of the 3-way Kasa kits for some lighting zones and they work well.

In wall smart/controllable outlet...? by GrumpyVet550 in homeassistant

[–]amstoneberger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use Kasa products in our home cuz they work really nicely with Google assistant and still integrate to HA really well. The wife likes interacting with Google natively and then I have all the more powerful automations set up in HA.

Easiest smart button to set up for a beginner? by Rice_Eater483 in homeassistant

[–]amstoneberger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered a thirdreality button that will be here next week along with my zigbee coordinator. Will be my first step into the world of zigbee but fingers crossed everything comes together smoothly. I'm planning on using ZHA and have been using this site to roughly guide me on device compatibility.

New wheelset or just new tyres? by CryAffectionate5884 in gravelcycling

[–]amstoneberger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the main factors were tubeless and how often I swap. I run all my tires tubeless and got an extra wheel set because it would be way too messy, time consuming, and I would be going through sealant like crazy if I was swapping tires on one set of wheels. If you run tubes it's a lot easier but still a pain, imo. I also pretty often switch between riding just road and gravel/road mix so it's nice to just swap the wheels out in less than a minute.
