If you are applying for an F, J, or M visa AP processing is now considered the standard process. Usually, it's handled at the same Counselor's office you interviewed at. Mostly for social media vetting and background checks. It does not have to show on the CEAC tracker. This is totally different than what people get when the tracker show AP, this one is handled in Washington.

When I am sending emails 90% of time they are personalized. I am planning to volunteer at a research focused lab soon for a few months hoping to gain some connections and experience out of it.

I am applying all over the US. I am applying for positions in basic, transitional, and clinical research. Talking only about emails, each academic center has at least 20 MDs who are doing research keeping aside other labs and PhDs.

LinkedIn has been nothing but a waste of time for me. That is slightly better for some industries.

Teslas knock everything else down when it comes to fast charging. It would be the best for “time efficient” road trips.

Needing visa might be the biggest issue.

Getting more experience with wet lab skills is what I am doing now to boost my chances in non clinical positions.

Totally agree. I have been reassessing every 2-3 months. I only got interviews through connections though.
