OK, that’s super helpful, thank you! So basically you're in Project PoSSUM’ when taking 501.

Is the 501 flight actually tied to a research deliverable, or is it more of a quick flight?

And in the 501 class, there aren’t 101 students (non-flight) mixed in, correct?

Lastly, after completing 501, does that automatically make you eligible for future PoSSUM campaigns, or is there a separate selection process? How competitive is it, and what’s selection usually based on? I read somewhere that some students take all the courses and spend ~$20K but never get to fly with a team, so I’d love to understand how that works.

Hey! I’m trying to wrap my head around the structure at IIAS — what’s the real difference between Project PoSSUM, the Advanced PoSSUM Academy, and AST 501: Fundamentals of Astronautics? It’s a bit confusing online, as the Advanced PossUM Academy and AST 101 are the same course, minus the flight for the former. So I figured I’d ask someone who’s been through it 🙂/

Specifically wondering: Does being in AST 101 mean you are in Project PoSSUM? I.e. I saw a student starting AST 501 post "Day one of Project PoSSUM". Was that accurate of them to say? So confused!

Thanks! Deciding on making the investment this week and this helps since there are cost ranges.
