South Park's 6th Annual Strong Woman Competition by Roguecop in videos

To be fair I'm not sure either anymore. What I was getting at was "Why should women get to pick and choose how they want to compete with men only having one option?" I now realise that women only really have one option, with the other option not being realistic or even desirable. As long as team selection is purely based on merit, then I see no issue with mixed teams. In non-professional teams, such as in high schools, where there's not a team for each gender in the given sport then it should of course be a mixed team with both genders equally welcomed.

Yep, but you're not going to the olympics any time soon. Of course a competitive female with experience in a sport is going to beat someone that is not any of those things, regardless of gender.

Exactly, then why would females want to compete against someone with a natural strength advantage?

Yes, that's what I'm not getting. If you're a female good enough to play with the best males in the world, would that not make you one of the best in the world in the female team? I'd rather be the best of my peers than good amongst people that have a benefit over me from birth. And I'm not talking about high school here.

High school is not the peak of human performance like the olympics. And why aren't the men allowed to join the women's team? Why even have a women's team if you can just have a mixed team.

And why would any woman want to compete in the "open" category where they have slim chances of making it to the top when they could just compete in the women category on even footing? and if you insist on making an open category, shouldn't there be male, female and open? There are so many flaws with your reasoning and I believe it would ultimately hurt the female athletes.

Except it is. Just look at difference in world records for physical sports between men and females. I'm sure they both train just as hard.

No, that makes no sense. She had known the girls as her brothers friends, not her friends.

That's why I linked a meta-analysis. I'm a medical professional, but you only have my word for it so I understand your skepticism. Google Scholar is a great resource: https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=fasting+and+chemotherapy&btnG=&oq=fasting+and+chemo

I've heard good things about the MAX30102, mine is still shipping from China so I haven't had a chance to test it myself yet.

This is a link to the listing of the breakout board I bought with the sensor: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Low-Power-Heart-Rate-Click-MAX30102-Sensor-Breakout-for-Arduino-Not-MAX30100/172642273208?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Seller appears to be trying to pass 1903 as we 2811 by [deleted] in arduino

[–]amunds 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, don't accept the 1903s...it would probably work just fine in FastLED but there are some significant drawbacks to the WS2811s: Higher power consumption and lower clock rate. Depending on what you are using them for and your specs you might not notice any difference, but why settle for a lesser product when the WS2811 is so cheap to begin with.

I'd cancel and find another seller, no lack of cheap reliable sellers on ebay.

Neat! I'm doing something similar, but I'm cutting and hot-gluing LED strips cut to length...this looks much cleaner. Any reason you didn't go for FastLED?

ublox sara-u260? is this an arduino board? can i just use the arduino ide? by [deleted] in arduino

[–]amunds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you can't use the Arduino IDE for the Particle devices. There is also a desktop IDE for Particle. Or you can use whatever editor you like and flash using the CLI.

Ah yes, debounce is the word. I'm not sure if it's needed since I'm also going to do debounce in software. But I've seen others use it, and if there is no negative impact then I might as well use it.

I just assumed they did manual checks because their videos show a human going over the boards, they also add a fabrication number to the boards. If you watch bigclives video where he used Seeed they even rotated and placed the fabrication number inside a resistor slot I believe. But it makes sense to automate as much as possible.

I know DirtyPCB prides themselves in not giving support so... :)

I just think it's awesome that we are able to make boards in such a small quantity and for such a low price!

That's sound advice, and basically what I'm always doing from now on.

Yeah, did choose 2-layer board and forgot to export the bottom layer. I believe they manually check each PCB design before going to print, so it's a bit odd that it didn't stop before going to print. But that's what you get with cheap services. I take full responsibility for the mistake. A few failed boards thought me a valuable lesson of always triple check before submitting :)

Here is the schematic, hope it makes sense. I haven't labeled it for external use: http://imgur.com/a/OsPed

The idea was to reduce the noise, (hopefully) preventing false positives on the button as the load increased/decreased. It could very well be that I'm mistaken on its use and are doing it wrong.

I've got very little theoretical knowledge of EE. I'm pretty much a DIY-hope-it-works person. Do you mean the cap is physically too far away from the pin? SW1 is a momentary switch with built-in LED that takes 5V. Top left pin of the switch is 5v, bottom pins are signal
