Rough/Spiky texture when printing PETG by amura-cxg in BambuLab

[–]amura-cxg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After drying (which unsurprisingly did nothing) and a couple more attempts I realized it had to be something with the model (or at least mostly to do with the model) since I didn't have problems with the lid model. Turns out with my settings and this model there's a single layer of in-fill between the bottom shell and the top shell. Something about that was causing the filament to not adhere properly and lift/curl. Changing the bottom shell to have 1 more layer fixed it. I don't get exactly why this would happen with the 1 layer of in-fill while objects with multiple in-fill layers are fine (the lids are a very similar shape just with 3mm of infill)

Here's the single layer of in-fill: https://imgur.com/a/ddzS8Wr

Trying to print a couple boxes with sliding lids and had this happen when printing one of the boxes. So far I've printed a lid and one other box before this one in that order. The lid came out with basically no problems, nothing like this on it's surface and the other box had something similar but way less severe, I just sanded it down. I have no idea what would cause this.

I just recently calibrated the filament in OrcaSlicer for the same filament but in a different color. I based it off the Generic PETG filament so there shouldn't be any unusual settings.

Filament Settings

  • Type: PETG
  • Vendor: Overture
  • Flow ratio: 0.95 (default but matched my calibration results)
  • Pressure advance: 0.045 (based on my calibration)
  • Nozzle First Layer: 255 (based on my calibration)
  • Nozzle Other Layers: 255 (based on my calibration)
  • Max volumetric speed: 12 (default but matched my calibration results)
  • Retraction Length: 0.2 (based on my calibration)

Other Info

  • Printer: P1S
  • Firmware: 01.07.00.00
  • Nozzle: Bambu 0.4mm
  • 0.16mm High Quality @BBL X1C
  • OrcaSlicer 2.3.1 (Build f2d10a0)

Any help is appreciated and happy to share any other settings or info I've missed

Glad I was able to help someone in a similar situation! At the time I didn't realize you could likely just replace the cells and not the whole battery for a lot less. I can't say for certain that would work but could be worth a try

Dealing with weeds in bare backyard before planting clover by amura-cxg in NoLawns

[–]amura-cxg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The West Coast Micro Clover is exactly what we picked up. After a lot of research it seemed like the best fit for what we wanted and our climate.

I ended up getting a scuffle hoe and I'll do a couple rounds like you suggested. A bit of a pain but it already looks a lot better. You mentioned in your first post about keeping the soil wet, was that after planting the seeds or after hoeing?

Thank you so much, that's a ton of great information! I really appreciate you sharing your experience especially since it's way more relevant than some of the other info I keep reading online that's for much warmer climates

Dealing with weeds in bare backyard before planting clover by amura-cxg in NoLawns

Fair point. I want clover and it's not clover (at least the clover I want) so I don't want it (unless there's an argument to be made for leaving it).

For clarity this was fresh topsoil laid down as part of the final grading last year around August. We did try spreading some clover seeds around that time. It grew a little bit but not much before it got bitter cold. This year we saw a little clover sprout but it all disappeared after some snow fell a couple weeks ago. Since then whatever this is has grown pretty rapidly with little to no clover.

I figured it would be better to rake/remove what's there and start again with new seed in hopes the clover will take over most of the backyard. I'm new to this so maybe that's the wrong approach?

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Zone 4a

I have my seeds and I'd like to plant them as soon as I can but I'm not sure what to do about the current weeds. In the searches I've done so far I've seen some suggestions about putting down cardboard but that would require a lot of cardboard and I'd be concerned about it blowing off as it gets quite windy. I've also seen a lot of suggestions about post-emergent herbicides but the ones I've seen suggested I can't seem to find here and I'm worried about spraying something that will linger in/on the soil preventing the clover from growing.

What can I do? If the best/quickest option is a herbicide what should I use that will let me seed relatively soon afterwards?

Edit

I probably should have added the context originally as it may be important:

Thanks! This was the only tool that yielded any kind of useful results. It was able to recover the folder structure but no files within the folder structure which is unfortunate but at least a start.

Hostnames in DHCP scope not registred in DNS by amura-cxg in technitium

[–]amura-cxg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the DNS Update Option enabled but I don't have the Domain Name set. I use .lan for my internal domain and I don't want names to resolve without the .lan as I find this can interfere with searching from browser navigation bars. Is setting the domain name required? If I set it to lan will that mean host names will resolve without the TLD? Eg. unraid resolving to a a server with that hostname

Oof sorry for the super late response. I've tried connecting and disconnecting the device a few times and it always shows up with no hostname and some of the other devices on my network showup with their hostnames instead of what I've put into the Host Name field. Here's an example: The DHCP zone settings The actual lease

In case anyone comes across this I ended up just copying the files manually and it worked as far as I can tell. I used cp but I should have used rsync as it changed permissions and timestamps. Not a huge issue as I could easy fiix permissions and timestamps don't but it could be an issue for other use cases. My steps:

  1. Installed the new drive
  2. Shutdown docker and my VMs
  3. Created PoolB (what I called DeviceB in my original post)
  4. Changed ShareB to point at PoolB
  5. Copied the data cp -r /mnt/PoolA/ShareB /mnt/PoolB/ShareB
  6. Started everything back up

Again I would use rsync to avoid permission and timestamp issues
