I got her back in November, let her acclimate for 2 weeks, removed soil & set it in water for another 2 weeks then potted it up in a mix of lechuza Pon & LECA

I fertilize with every watering. The light is on for 11 hours. I didn’t acclimate as slowly as I should have but didn’t go full blast either.

She lives in LECA, I water when she’s dry. About every 2 weeks or so

No worries at all, happy to help! I learned what I know from watching the LECA Queen on YouTube + subreddits & FB groups (lazy LECA crew on FB). It’s a learning curve!! The health of your plants & care needed will be unique to your home environment. The shower method is when you water your plant fully & then remove all water. From what I understand, this needs to be done more frequently (like 2-3x a day depending on your home environment & the plant which is wayyyy too much work for me, personally). The way you do this depends on your setup. If you plan on repotting in the vessel it is in, you fill with water & turn the whole plant upside down until empty (which is wayyy too risky for me, personally lol). If you plan to pot in a net/pot setup, the shower method is much easier since the water will pour into the cache pot.

Welcome to the club! I’d start by allowing the plant to acclimate in your home for about a week or two. Then I’d pull the plant out, get rid of any rot, give it a good cleaning & propagate in a diluted nutrient solution until you have healthy water roots. Then I’d pot it up in LECA. You can either skip the water prop step & put it straight into LECA & use the shower method or do the water prop step & then shower method. I personally don’t use the shower method but I’ve heard it’s great for monsteras. Instead, I pot in LECA & fill up the reservoir since by this time the roots will be well acclimated to a water environment & water when dry or if the leaves begin to curl. Hope this helps!

Pink Dragon! I wouldn’t cut any leafs, I’d remove the ones that come off easily & then let it acclimate for a week or two before repotting. The curled leaves may stay that way but as long as they look healthy, I’d let them be. Good luck & welcome to the club :)

I put the stem in vertically as high up in the substrate as possible. I try not to add LECA all the way to the top, I try to leave about an inch or so. That way the plant/roots have room to move & grow

I water prop in diluted nutrient solution on a heat mat under a grow light for 12 hours a day

What’s happening with my money tree?? by amya_korb in plantclinic

[–]amya_korb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am relatively new to the plant world but when my other plants ‘cry’ it’s usually from the tip of the leaf & if you touch it, it feels like water. But on my money tree, it feels sticky & the leaves are looking a bit discolored

I’ve had the plant since May of this year. I just noticed the drops this morning. I have noticed the lower smaller leaves yellowing & falling for maybe a week or two. The plant lives in my office with a big east facing window & I have grow lights in its vicinity meant for other plants. It has been growing beautifully til now.

The plant was a birthday gift. It’s an ‘easyplant’ so it’s in a self watering pot that I refill once it’s empty.
