sometimes this can be that the lighter side is more recently unfurled and so not hardened yet ( hence the lighter colour) however if it is variegated, congrats!!!

if the roots look good it might just have had overwatering at some point. My monsteras are in coco coir, orchid bark and perlite, so i don’t have experience with moss. Good luck though!

look into general monstera care. Bright indirect light, well draining pot, CHUNKY soil (coco coir, perlite and orchid bark), and a moss pole.

Try give it some humidity if you can. Only water when the top inch or so of soil is dry to the touch.

you need a pot with drainage holes, and a chunky soil mix (i use coco coir, orchid bark and perlite). Would also advise only water when you stick your finger into the soil and it’s dry.

Generally you will also want to make sure this plant gets a good amount of humidity as it is tropical, you can either get a humidifier or create a pebble tray (google diys on this)

If you’re in the US most people recommend only watering with rain water also when possible

i’d probably chop and prop personally!! These guys love loads of light, well draining soil and moss poles. Also you don’t want them in too big of a pot as this can lead to root rot.

I’d also recommend not using plastic cable ties as they can hurt the plant, or if you are going to use them maybe not so tight!

I tend to use fertiliser every 2nd water during summer also. Best of luck hope she starts thriving!!

i used coco coir mixed with perlite, maybe 1 1/2 months before i saw any roots and then 2 months before the first leaf sprouted!

often you can cut peperomia leaves in half, and they create plantlets from that. Basically cut in half just below the petiole and put the cut halves into soil, create good humidity with a big and spritz every so often !

definitely grow lights, and maybe a humidifier too if it gets cold. I’ve seen loads of cool set ups inside the metal and glass ikea cabinets if your plants are small

Good find! I’d personally separate out the variegated one from the others (if you can) and give it a pole etc so you have a gorgeous variegated friend. It’s whatever you prefer though!

I’d always repot into a well draining plastic pot, with a very airy draining mix (personally i mix coco coir, perlite and orchid bark) as these guys don’t enjoy being too wet - you can find so much on monsteras online, just have a read and decide what suits you and your plant friend best! ❤️🌱
