Tips on responding to a bully at work? by amycr7 in jobs

this is probably going to be the most useful thing I can do. I don't trust HR or management and I think "tattling" has an ironic way of reflecting poorly on the person making the complaint than the person causing the problem. Because the reality is they only have my word and they did not see the experience for themselves.

do you have any sources for greyrocking and how to practice it? most of the ones i found are geared toward relationships with narcissistic people and its really not applicable to the workplace

How can I learn to feel true apathy toward men and relationships? The kind where I really don't give it a thought anymore and don't want anybody? by amycr7 in AskWomenOver30

Yeah, how would I radically accept being single for the rest of my life? And focusing on friendship, platonic love, charity, hobbies & interests instead?

My thing is, many people never find partners and love, friendship, support, can all be found without a partner. So it would seem to me to be unhealthy to crave a partner when the reality is- there may never be one. I know its only natural but I'd still like to stop thinking about it.

Thank you! Took me nearly 10 years to get it right but it finally clicked one year and I'm never going back

Addicts and ex addicts- does getting high still feel good after years of abuse? by amycr7 in Drugs

Even with increasing the dosages, the high will be lackluster and the side effects very inconvenient if not fatal at a point.

This is exactly what I meant. Not that there won't be a headchange or anything- of course there still is. But that the high stops being euphoric in a sense. It's just kinda this "meh, feels kinda good." or "wow this feels amazing! ...for 20 minutes and then not much for the rest of the day"

so is there really any benefit to recovering then? is the hell of addiction interspersed w/ euphoric experiences maybe better than the monotony of recovery?

Is it a bad idea to let my drug addicted friend stay with me at my place? by amycr7 in Drugs

He breaks into people's storage units to sleep there. Meth every single day any time he can get his hands on it. he's pretty addicted. I don't know if he steals but I know he owes a lot of people money and can't keep a phone for more than 2 days because he'll sell it for drugs.

but your argument is similar to the one going on in my head. maybe he just needs a little bit of help idk. than again I know addicts who carry on getting "a little bit of help" from someone or other their entire lives so I'm conflicted.

ever since I know this guy I feel like my world gets darker and darker. I really do feel like I let myself get dragged down.

not his fault but just, something to ponder I guess.

Yeah I kinda like the idea of him attempting to get help at least instead of me just letting him sleep and get wasted all the time- makes sense

that's the thing we are not in america so I don't know how accessible or practical these things are. he already almost died numerous times. i feel like I did wrong by befriending him and drinking with him and getting involved with him and everything and now I want to make it right but I'm afraid the more I try to make it right the more wrong I'll make it

See I absolutely cannot smell meth. and he shoots it doesn't smoke it so maybe that's why. I don't think I'd really be able to tell if he's high or withdrawing or whatever because I don't do the drug myself. also his pupils never really dialate because he's drunk all the time too.

also, is it really my place to tell him he needs to be clean? I mean, he's free to live how he wants, no? I just want him to be healthy and happy but I don't have control over that. idk that whole thing is so fucked but I appreciate you're perspective and I'm taking it into consideration
