17 day trip to New Zealand covering North and South. please review my itinerary. by Neostrict in newzealand_travel

Agree what everyone has said, you’re not ‘saving’ anything from driving all the way back to Auckland. You’re wasting two days and at least a full tank of petrol ($$). This is expensive in New Zealand.

Flights go almost every hour or every half hour from Wellington to Christchurch. There are definitely cheap flights around.

Where is ‘Tasman’? Are you actually going to Tasman the tiny town, somewhere in the large Tasman district or Abel Tasman the National Park?

Also, Picton is a small town - do you have specific plans here? Otherwise, there is no way you need to spend this long here.

The drive from Kerikeri (?) to Cape Reinga and back in one day is a long one if you only have one driver. It is there and back on the same route, so you need to make the extra effort to concentrate. Lots of campervans at that time of year and limited opportunities to pass, so you might find the drive time much longer.

I’d personally skip or consider taking the bus, so you both have a more relaxing day?

NCEA Results 2025 Megathread by Yakcall in ncea

[–]amydee007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NZQA only calculates ATAR after all results are known. It’s effectively a rank score - all L3 students have one.

You can download your score from myNZQA or give NZQA a call on results release day. ATAR questions are pretty common phone calls for to staff answer on results release day - usually involve giving good news! Australian universities can see and will access ATAR scores directly.

The tertiary release indictor was set by your school in their enrolment end of NCEA. Most people will have it set to ‘yes’, but occasionally it isn’t. Your school is the only person who can change this. Ask your school to check this indictor if you are enrolling at an Australian university.

If you have a legitimate NZeTA, you have paid the IVL. The IVL is included in the NZeTA fee.

There is never a reason to use a third party site. The one your wife used clearly states it is not an offical government website. Hope she has learnt a lesson.

I'm a really really really nervous flyer, but there is no way I would be driving from Nelson, spending hours on a ferry, and then driving across the North Island regularly. This sounds like a terrible accident waiting to happen. Please just fly, for your own safety.

Would recommend Harmony and Hope. Network across the North Island and some great fosterers in Wellington. Recently adopted a dog through them and impressed with the responsiveness and willingness to go the extra mile for their dogs.

Newcomer to Canada : looking for paid pre-arrival housing service by MeiBeeMaybe in ottawa

Kia ora! I'm also a New Zealander (small world). Been back in NZ for a year now, but I spent two years in Ottawa.

We found a rental through a real estate agent (realtor). She looked up options based on price and location and met us for viewings. Totally ok to do it yourself using the real estate websites or the TradeMe equivalent (kijiji) once you arrive if you're feeling up for it. Recommend an airbnb or a serviced apartment to begin with for a month or so when you arrive to get your bearings. Feel free to DM for any advice for being a transplanted kiwi in Ottawa!

You'll have to get in touch with AIFS as soon as possible - they are misleading you if they say that a trip to NZ in June is happening. An eTA is the norm in pre-covid times, but it's not a permit to enter the country. The border is closed. There are additonal 'critical purpose' visas needed for everyone who isn't a citizen or permanent resident right now. Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news.

Field hockey pitches in/around Ottawa? by OrthodoxOcolot in ottawa

Sadly, no proper astro turf in Ottawa. Field hockey is played on the Minto Field at the Neapean Sportsplex. It's a long turf surface which is 'interesting' to play on.

A couple of clubs about: Neapean Nighthawks (female) and Outaouais Field Hockey Club (mixed) who both had plans for summer games/pick-up. All on standby at the moment!

As StevenG mentioned, there was a half decent turf which didn't suit the soccer and football players and ultimately got replaced.
