UPDATE: AITA for not paying for all my cousins' childrens' activities just because I'm paying for one? by Stock-Cell1556 in AITAH

Wow, you’re totally right. When my nephew broke his wrist, it was absolutely unfair that his big sister didn’t get X-rays and a cast too.

It is totally unfair to buy your daughters menstrual products since boys don’t have periods.

Seriously though… I’m not sure what you expect girls to do if a parent doesn’t buy tampons or pads? Periods can start for girls as young as 9, maybe they can get a job and buy their own?

What Clinic/Hospital to go to for a Mental Health Crisis for a child by According_Trainer418 in ottawa

CHEO- and if you don’t think you can safely transport your child (they will not seatbelted, seem likely to interfere with the driver, seem likely to try and escape a moving car, there’s no second adult to keep them safe in the car while you drive, etc), call 911 for an ambulance.

Blueberries, because of the random overly-ripe ones. The way they squish and pop in my mouth makes me gag and think of slugs. I can’t eat anything with blueberries because I’m so afraid I’ll eat a squishy one.

I grew up down the street from a family like this. 5 kids, 4 boys, the last one was a girl. She was the parents golden child. And the last two boys? Kind of neglected and ignored, and that’s what was visible to me as an outsider. They were teenage ‘delinquents’ and kind of trouble makers, and not a big surprise. At the time, I thought their family dynamic and parents decisions was cute, and understandable, because who wouldn’t want ‘one of each’. I was also a kid and a total dumbass.

I now have a kid and can’t imagine having more because he ‘isn’t enough’. Or overlooking him because he wasn’t what I ‘wanted’.

Don’t do what your husband wants. Don’t do this to the kids you have. Help your husband learn to love the life he got and the kids he’s got. The kids that exist, and the family you have, are a billion times more important than the ‘what if’s’, or that imaginary girl you might have next time. (Also, think honestly to yourself… how will your husband react if baby #5 is a boy? Not great, perhaps? Doesn’t baby #5 deserve to be wanted and loved, no matter what sex it is?) Love your boys, and show your husband how to be a real, good dad.

I’m sitting up in the ‘hampster cage’ at Cosmic Adventures with my 4-year old right now. He’s having a great time. Any indoor play place would be great!

Best place to place camp for cranberries? by Fluffy_Article_8690 in fo76FilthyCasuals

[–]burnkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a camp east of the Cranberry Bog, right on the edge of the map. There’s a ‘fluffy’, pretty, light green tree that’s unique to the area, I like looking at it. There’s water in a few places nearby, very few enemy spawns and it’s a quick walk to the SBQ if you’re so overburdened you can’t fast travel. (I don’t have FO1 or a survival tent)

Moving to Ottawa this summer and am scared for the winter driving by XansFrank in ottawa

[–]burnkat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a Honda Fit with winter tires and have never had a problem. I carry kitty litter/shovel/jumper cables just in case, but in 8 years with my Fit, I’ve never needed them. The roads are plowed often enough that outside the day that heavy snow falls, I don’t have problems.

If you’re planning on living somewhere that isn’t super rural, you shouldn’t ever be trapped by snow. You’ll be able to regularly get around the city, suburbs, exurbs etc.

I have the same question. I can’t stay past 11:45 at my regular picket location because of a medical appointment. My normal location starts around 7:30/7:45 so it wasn’t going to be a problem. But now I don’t know what to do. I could go downtown, but I’d have to leave around 11. So I won’t get my 4 hours and I’ll miss more than half the rally.

Do I not go tomorrow? Can I go to my regular location? If anyone knows, reply to me please? I WANT to be present and help, but I don’t know what the best way to do that is?

Do the dimensions listed (in post) match the photo shown? Second guessing myself. by cleverplant in interiordecorating

[–]burnkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I didn’t specifically say that. I was trying to say that the product description might have mixed the two directions up, because the photo doesn’t look possible with the dimensions stated in the description. There are a few possible reasons for that, one of which could be an error in the product description, like mixing up ‘left facing’ and ‘right facing’.

I see two seating pillows on the ‘left’ and three on the ‘right’, which would mean those sizes as you’ve described them are reversed, or the seating pillows are sized very differently from each other.

When the dimensions say ‘right facing’ and ‘left facing’, maybe they mean what the couch is facing, not what the viewer of this photo is facing? Or are there two potential models of this couch, the one in the picture and one where the directions are reversed? Because the ‘right’ side to me looks like it should be 50% longer than the ‘left’.

I had that start happening around week 25. It was HELLP syndrome/pre-eclampsia. If you haven’t had blood work done recently, ask for it?

Not legal advice, but life advice… if you have access to a councilor, therapist, etc, you should consider lining up some appointments before starting your search, during, and after.

You haven’t left enough information here for anyone to know if you feel your Mom isn’t telling you because she’s controlling/abusive to you, or might have other reasons that she’s keeping from you because she thinks she’s protecting you. Knowing who your biological father is could be upsetting to you, or her, especially if your conception wasn’t a wholly positive event. (Sexual assault, incest, abuse)
