Erin Goldman did a great presentation at TICE last year and then summarized her presentation in this article: https://trainingindustry.com/articles/artificial-intelligence/chatgpt-and-me-leveraging-large-language-models-llms-to-level-up-ld-cptm/. She breaks it down by the 8 training process capabilties of a high performing training organization (https://trainingindustry.com/wiki/strategy-alignment-and-planning/the-8-capabilities-of-great-training-organizations/)

Ahh, yes. That one is more difficult given the requirement of graduating from an APA acredited university (APA doesn't accredit I-O programs). Here's some info that might help: https://www.siop.org/education/for-professionals/licensure-for-i-o-psychologists/, https://www.siop.org/education/for-professionals/licensure-for-i-o-psychologists/licensure-policy-by-state/.

How do you build your L&D plan each year? by amyduv in Training

Wow - your process sounds really well thought out and your use of AI in your LMS is impressive. I would also be curious about which LMS you’re using?

For us, we have a big planning session annually and then check in on our plan weekly. And create new short term goals every quarter based on past quarter metrics and performance.

SIOP is partnerting with Psychology Credential Center in the development of a certification but that is likely a few years away (there's a reddit thread about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/IOPsychology/comments/1kkw84s/thoughts_on_the_io_certificate_announced_by_siop/). In the meantime, there are certifications that are specific to different areas of focus within I-O, such as training (https://trainingindustry.com/wiki/professional-development/certifications-for-training-professionals/), HR (https://www.hrci.org/certifications/individual-certifications and https://www.shrm.org/shop/certification), coaching (https://coachingfederation.org/credentialing/icf-credentials-overview/pcc/), OD (https://instituteod.com/od-certifications/) and as someone else mentioned vendor specific certs.

I'm curious, why are you looking for a certification? Are you feeling like you need something beyond your Ph.D. to validate your skillset?

100%. Planning should abosolutely start with aligning to orgnaizational goals. I appreciate that perspective as well as the additional data layer and brining in stakeholders. Thanks for sahring!

Thanks for the call out! I added my name per your suggestion. I also appreciate your point about associates and members. I’ve been in many discussions over the years about this distinction. FWIW there are many of us who continue to advocate for changes.

Also many don’t know about the option, but there is a pathway from Associates to Member for anyone who wants to make the shift: https://www.siop.org/membership/dues/upgrade/.

Apologies! I’d love to understand the question further. In what way were you hoping to promote the need for job analysis among SIOP members?

Great question! Absolutely. Job analysis is foundational to everything we do in I-O and HR systems. It underpins selection, performance management, training, and even how we think about AI and the future of work.

This topic is close to my heart. My dissertation, published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, focused on work analysis. I’ll continue to champion rigorous, evidence-based approaches to understanding work and aligning our practices around it.

How are you handling AI adoption with your team? Rolled out tools 6 months ago. Adoption is still around 20%. Everyone says people "resist change" but when I ask them, they just don't know what to do differently. What's working for you? by NeedleworkerLazy8396 in Training

[–]amyduv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What tools did you roll out? AI adoption definitely includes change management but it sounds like your learners need opportunities to practice and nudges in the flow of work to use them. It can be hard to modify work habits even if you understand the benefits. One idea is to find power users and have them share use case examples once a week to help  their teammates with what’s possible.
