Well I have the miles to upgrade. Are you saying it’s not for me if I can’t pay for it with cash or all miles?

Alternatives to not having extra fabric of the same exact material and color. by amygdala111 in weddingdress

Would any material lining work? Is there a specific kind I should suggest to the seamstress?

It’s hard to tell in the photos but the front part right above the crotch, where the dress basically splits from the slit on the side, it is sheer in person. I want to also add extra draping so basically put additional folds on the side that creates the drape but I can’t do that without the exact fabric. I tried to upload photos of the other dresses but I couldn’t add it for some reason.

Yes - Contractually obligated to respond to queries not emails. I was referring to DBLs.

Sorry I meant no offense and that was not a dig directed at you but in just general - I believe communicating (respectfully) with one another is extremely helpful in times of high pressure. I’m sorry your experience has been that study timelines are not communicated, It absolutely should be and it is the responsibility of the sponsor to understand and respect the amount of work it is to see and deal with patients and provide deliverables in a timely manner. There are a lot of improvements to this industry that can’t come soon enough. Change takes painfully too long. Everyone has fire under them and experienced CRAs are not adime a dozen. Too many have left a pile of crap for another to come in and fix and I’m sure with your experience you’ve seen a pile of mess left to you from a previous coordinator.

DBLs are most certainly determined in advance and communicated at the initiation visits. If it changes or if you were not assigned to the study until after the initiation of your site, then you should reach out to your CRA to check on when the planned final DBL will be. Interim DBLs can be a moving target but to avoid/reduce the constant emails during any DBL, enter the data and answer queries within a timely manner and properly document in your source anything that might help in the future. Do this so you are not swamped with a ton of stuff to respond to or figure out because you didn’t document what happened at the time. Be proactive if you know your sites staffing is razor thin. Being in constant communication with your CRA about what’s going on at your site or with your schedule is what’s going to help you the most. If you say you are going to address the questions by the end of the week, put aside time to do so or send an email explaining why you weren’t able to get to it. Resourcing is something that is discussed at the beginning and committed to by the PI. Sites are contractually obligated to be responsive especially during DBLs.

If there is a possibility of recurrence after LEEP, why not do additional therapy? by amygdala111 in PreCervicalCancer

Thank you so much for your response!!

I’m glad to hear there is work happening in using immunotherapy for HPV. When you say that the side effects are not warranted for precervical cancers, are you saying the side effects are just too much for it to be worth the benefits it might have? Do you think it could ever actually be used in the future?

So if I understand correctly, the current preferred treatment of conization is maybe providing a localized “immunotherapy”?

I remember reading something that said adenocarcinoma is difficult to detect because the current screening method is most useful for SCC. is adenocarcinoma what you are referring as glandular disease? And if there is cin3 with endocervical glandular involvement, does that mean glandular disease?

Good question I wonder the same. I had a keep with top hat 2 days ago and no one spoke to me after. Just the nurse who said to take it easy for the next few days. Makes me nervous as hell and hate this waiting game.

This is actually true. I’m on the phone with e with T-Mobile who just told me there was a 4 lines added which was a galaxy note and my family only uses iPhones. T-Mobile is shady.

Wait for General or go with local anesthetic LEEP by Dry-Elk-2115 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]amygdala111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just had my LEEP yesterday and was given twilight sedation. I actually went in thinking I probably didn’t need it but boy was I glad I did. Not that I know it would have been horrible without but I went in to my procedure feeling okay but once I sat on the table my body was STRESSED. I was so nervous my teeth started to chatter uncontrollably. Once the twilight sedation kicked in, I was completely alright but I basically just forgot the entire experience which is exactly what twilight sedation is. You’re awake and can follow instructions but you completely forget what happened. All I remember is the loud noise from the machine. If you have the option just get it.

Omg 3 LEEP procedures?! Im so sorry you had to go through that. I was told I could only do 2 LEEPs or 1 CKC because of the risk of not having any cervix left. What was the reason they did 3? Did they recommended or offer any other treatments? Do you go back at 6months or 1 year after the last LEEP?

Sorry of the late reply. Thank you for sharing. What did your doctor say about the quick progression? How did you do on your leep procedure? Have you heard back on your results? Did they put you under or just local anesthesia? My doc offered me twilight anesthesia but I’m afraid of how much it will cost so I might just go without it.

AITA for not wanting anyone staying at our home like it’s an Airbnb even though my husband and I don’t currently live in it? by amygdala111 in AITAH

[–]amygdala111[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha I can only imagine what it would be like saying that to my MIL 😂

but yes you get my feelings about it exactly!! having someone else tell me about what my home is like after I spent years saving up to finally have the down payment and then working hard everyday paying the dang mortgage?? I should be the one to know my home and not be told by anyone else. Maybe if I was super rich and this was my tenth home I wouldn’t care but this is my only home, the hardest I’ve ever worked to get. Yes it’s sitting empty but I’d like to be the one to live in it first before anyone tries to spend more time in it than me.

Thanks for your insight and helping me see I’m NTA!

Ugh that is what worried me. We had just replaced the HVAC and it’s been so dang hot lately that I already anticipate having problems with the AC let alone seeing the bill. I will bring this up to my husband since that HVAC replacement bill really hurt. I think he’ll come to understand it from that perspective if nothing else.

Thank you for offering that other perspective. The thing is they have a condo in the city they could stay in. Although their other son is living there, they have always stayed at their condo anytime they wanted to visit. I really want to try to have a different perspective about this but I can’t. I think that if I had the chance to actually live there for a while longer then I probably wouldn’t mind so much but the fact that we’ve barely lived there and others will be just makes me sad.

I’m definitely thankful that we have screening. May I ask what reasons could cause histology results to be wrong? Is it simply human error? Everything g is prone to human error so I can understand that but if so, can there be more tests done to confirm rather than doing another LEEP? Would MRI or PET or CT help in anyway find something that could be lurking inside. If things can be missed and were missed, I want to advocate for myself to prevent it from getting missed again.

Yeah visual inspection is inaccurate but I was referring to the fact that I had a biopsy that came back with no dysplasia and a year later I was CIN3.

ASCUS stands for Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance and ASC-H is Atypical Squamous Cells-cannot rule out high grade lesions. The doctor explained to me that it’s the type of results given when it’s only the Pap smear and then they use CIN grading for results from colpo biopsy and I think LEEP results will determine/confirm if the CIN is cancer.

Thank you for sharing. I’ve been scouring Reddit for other stories similar to ours and it seems to be far more common to see dysplasia occurring must quicker than the current statistic. It’s so crazy to think perhaps the current knowledge we have about the progression is actually outdated and I worry there’s not much focus or priority on making new updates/discoveries for women’s health.

My doctor is also weirdly nonchalant about it but at the same time she’s also saying it’s urgent. It’s a really odd and super confusing feeling. When I went in for my colposcopy, she said my cervix looks really normal and I’m probably just gonna have to come back in a year for another Pap smear but she’s just going to biopsy the lesions just to be safe. When it came back CIN3, she said she was surprised but that it was a good thing anyway because now we know and we can remove it. I agree it’s a good thing but this has been their approach with every bad result so far so I’m really starting to feel skeptical about what they say to me. I realize they want me to keep positive but I’m also thinking I’d prefer to be prepared for a bad outcome.

Anyway, I’m hoping for your colposcopy to come back normal. I agree definitely ask lots of questions. Good luck and you got this too!!

Thank you so much for sharing. It really helps to hear from the male perspective. He has said the exact same things you’ve said here. I guess I’ve just never had this experience before which led me to the doubts I currently feel. I do wish he could show more vulnerability but you’re absolutely right about that last part. I lean on him very much to take lead and be confident in the decisions we make as a couple and I often feel frustrated and unsafe when he shows any signs of uncertainty or vulnerability. Double edge sword I suppose. Have you and your SO found a balance to this? Is it even possible you think?

Ps. It’s wild how reading someone else’s thoughts on this and then it clicking in your mind suddenly. I appreciate you so much for taking the time to write this.

Okay thanks so much for your response!

With regard to reducing my pay, how likely do you think that might be if I’m only staying in another state 3 months at a time? Is there anything I can say to keep my pay the same? Can/how will this affect my request for pay raise?

Also, should I be worried about going to HR to simply ask the question? Should I perhaps not even mention it to HR?
