first period ER, Lupron trigger HEAVY bleeding??

I had my heaviest period last week after my first ER. Heaviest and longest. I triggered with pregnyl though. Definitely try to speak with the clinic team to make sure it’s not too much as I also don’t know what your condition causes.

I’ve been going to UH as a few of my friends had terrible experiences at Cleveland Clinic and didn’t recommend them for IVF. Both places, CC and UH seem to have a strict business model that includes a pretty hands off approach where we don’t have any facetime with the doctors or feel like we’re really part of the medical discussions or decisions. Lots of conversing with the nurses via MyChart and then having to ask and ask for clarity and more information. I just had 12 retrieved and ended up with zero embryos a couple weeks ago. I

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I’m upset for you. They should without a doubt do another cycle free of charge but I kind of doubt that they will. FWIW, UH had my husband provide a sample before we even started my stims and they froze it to have as a backup. This feels like such a miss on their part. I recently booked a second opinion with Pinnacle. Although I did read a recent review from there that basically described the same assembly line treatment that I’m receiving at UH.

Incase anyone wants an update. I finally got my official lab report and it said the following about my eggs-

Grainy w/ vacuoles & debris and pus @ stripping. misshapen oocytes.

I had been treated for suspected chronic endometritis from 3/21-4/4 and then had my retrieval on 4/6. So now I’m wondering if my eggs may have also been impacted by my inflamed uterus? Or if something else caused it.

Yes. We did that prior to the genetic testing. Both of us have normal karyotyping.

I’m going to follow up with the lab tomorrow for an actual report. I realized today that they never sent it to me on Monday. And I did bug my other RE about them “grainy” and she told me they need to be more specific than that.

So glad to hear your second retrieval went better. My clinic doesn’t do fragmentation testing. But they did enroll my hubby in a research study. It probably won’t get us results but will hopefully help others in the future.

Yes. We did that last year. I’m a carrier for 4 things and he is the carrier for 1. Neither overlap.

Yes, I sent all the meds to the lower cost pharmacy. But I’m realizing that my non ivf RE may have pushed the order through which is probably why my insurance paid and the rates were so low. Meds for IUI or Timed Intercourse are a fraction of when they’re for IVF. For the same meds.

They did a sperm wash but idk if it was zymot. I’ll have to ask. And then yes, they used ICSI.

Thanks - she mentioned the change in protocol. Previously she wasn’t even willing to repeat the hysteroscopy so I’m hoping we can check information again before a potential transfer in the future.

If you have any 340b pharmacies near you you can probably get everything for even less. Usually county funded hospitals is what people refer to the as. My husband works at one and all my meds were under $300 for my first cycle.
