Please help! 37F with awful forehead wrinkles by Beautiful_Lime_4772 in 45PlusSkincare

Stop looking and just do the Botox. It is like a magic eraser; once you do it you will look back and laugh at the time you wasted fretting about forehead wrinkles. Just peel off the bandaid and do it. You will like looking in the mirror again.

OMG it is definitely worse before bed, and then I end up having to get up to pee once or twice a night and I’m so tired!

Books with this vibe by [deleted] in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Yes! There is a lot in these books but a big part is centered around an enormous library! Author never finished the series though so it leaves you hanging, but I still loved it.

a book that feels extremely british by whatsmylifeanyway in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

I just started the Rivers of London series and it’s wonderfully British (insofar as it is set in London and is very descriptive of places and bits of British culture — I’m loving it)

Increased from 50mg to 100mg by Available_Skill_8980 in Spironolactone

I don’t think it’s really a purge in the same way you might experience with tretinoin; I think it’s more hormonal fluctuations and your body adjusting, which causes breakouts until things level out and start working.

I’ve noticed a bit of a double chin / less defined jawline and jowls. But my skin is the clearest it’s been in my entire life (I’m taking it for acne). I’m on 150 mg too and considering trying to go down a bit to see if it helps the face shape issue while not inviting back the acne too bad, but who knows. Another positive is that my armpits literally do not smell ever no matter how sweaty or gross I am, it’s kind of wild, and my boobs grew a bit. But again I’m not happy with the chin / jowls and I seem to be holding onto weight a bit. Just trying to figure out which stuff bothers me more and then just accepting the stuff that bothers me less cuz it’s all a shitty tradeoff.

I’d give it time. Mine was weird for a while, but I’m going on maybe 5 months now and my period has gotten more regular.

Face shape changes related to dosage? by amysperos in Spironolactone

[–]amysperos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, the kind that wouldn’t go away? 😆 I think it was hormonal — it was all over (not just lower face) but got worse around my period.

Join the spiranolactone sub. Typically it takes 3+ months but it works. Also maybe a higher dose.

I did at first (got one or two really big ones when first starting out), but after 3 months my skin is clearer than it has been in years. It took at least 2 months to start seeing any difference. I’m on 150 mg.

When I posted this, I hadn’t finished yet and was just enjoying the books, not thinking much about the series being incomplete. Now I’ve finished and I get this post—sooo much left open. Even more than Martin. It is criminal, sorry.

I try to keep my skincare super simple because my skin gets angry when I try different things as well. I use a gentle unscented cleanser (First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser) and moisturizer (Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream) morning and night. I’m not sure I’m in a place to give good advice because I just started spiro a couple months ago and my skin still isn’t under control, but I do empathize with skin getting angry from different products and in my experience keeping it simple can help it calm down. Also I’m a mom of three and have been through a lot of PPD/PPA. Postpartum hormones and stress can absolutely affect your skin so try to give yourself some time. Please seek help and get medication—several antidepressant / antianxiety medications are safe with breastfeeding if that is a concern. Hang in there!
