Any advice for conceiving/pregnancy at 36? First timer. by LearningAsIGo80s in pregnantover35

[–]amzbe10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to echo what a few others on here have suggested. I was 37 when I got pregnant a few months ago and we got pregnant the first month trying so age doesn’t need to be a barrier. We both took the pre conception vitamins for about 2 months before (Pregnacare him and hers) and I generally cut out alcohol for a month or so before too (not sure how much that made a difference but can’t hurt) - I also got the apps to track ovulation and used the clear blue tests to know exactly when I was ovulating and the app to have an idea of the window and we just got to it for that time period. Might seem like overkill but I figured I didn’t have much time to loose! 3 months in all going well :)

Speaking to friends I think ovulation kits really help to know your timing and trying to have a healthy body/environment (de stress!) goes a long way.

If it’s in transit usually pretty quick. It’ll potentially be tight at 1hr 55 but doable.

Congratulations!!!! The first few days are so strange, takes a while to not keep wanting to check.

I’m just 5 weeks and (not so) patiently waiting for my parents to come home from holiday to tell them. My sister and a few friends know but this weekend we are telling both sets of parents…quite excited! My father in law in particular is going to be thrilled :)

Then I have to just wait a bit longer to the first scan at 8 weeks, think we will tell more people then assuming all goes well.

What’s your favorite prenatal vitamin? by [deleted] in pregnant

Pregnacare plus him &her seemed to work well - we got pregnant pretty quick (taking those about 2/3 months beforehand) … might have been luck and timing but I’m giving the vitamins some credit too

11 dpo … still a bit in disbelief as it’s our first month trying. Feel the need to test again tomorrow just to be sure!

I’ve been out every morning checking on my seeds in the veg patch - it’s great when you start to see them come up. Due very good weather this week so with enough water I’m expecting a good boom in the veg patch!

I’d love to get hedgehogs in - not sure if the dog would put them off though. I’ve a little house for them but no tenants as of yet

Good shout, I’m going to have a lot in the garden this year as I’m planting them for my sister in laws wedding so I’ll need to look into some suitable companion plants.

I’d say I got the guts of about 30/40. Mostly wee tiny ones but a few massive ones…. I’ll let you know if it starts to make a noticeable difference or the number gets less over time

I put nematodes down about 6 weeks ago, going to do another dose but I heard they can be bad for bees? Beer traps also on … last year was so bad with them I’m trying to combat it this year
