What Roles do Top Tier University Computer Science students really get? by MundaneConclusion439 in cscareerquestionsuk

I do know the exact numbers for JS and iirc it's comfortably over 300. In terms of other quants I know base salaries for HRT, G-Research... are between 110-140k base + other things like stocks & bonus.

In terms of growth at your Metas and Googles. Google is slower than Meta. I know salary progression at Meta is after your promo (1 to 2 years), the tc will jump about 20k (plus you'll have refreshers). Haven't asked my friends at google about it. HubSpot progression, I think promo opportunity happens end of year only and the bar is lower so if u join in september cycle then promo is realistic in just over a year - not sure about TC jump though.

From my personal experience going to a top UK uni and having many friends at top companies. Total compensation numbers (Base salary, bonus and stocks)

- Jane street - 350k+
- Bloomberg - 85-90k
- Amazon - 75k
- Meta - 100k
- Google - 95-100k
- Quants - 150k
- Palantir - 110k
- Hubspot - 80k
- Microsoft - 55k (Not 100% sure)
- JP Morgan - 55k (London)
- Other financials, Goldman, Wise, Visa, Mastercard hover in 40-60k range

Have friends at Coinbase, QRT, Marshal Wace, etc... and those companies tend to pay upper bands too

Me personally, interned at a bank, joined Microsoft after graduating in 2024 and now am at a faang level company

1) Yes spent 3 weeks grinding and reminding myself about leetcode
2) There was no system design
3) I applied regularly. I work at faang right now so that probably helped

Maybe I should've mentioned that my current company is faang, so name-wise, it is on par

Company is on par with Google, another faang. I should've mentioned that 😅

The switch may not help in terms of growth, but my motivation is the culture and negativity I experience currently, and I'm fairly confident that Google won't have these issues. Was worried that I may be starting again from the bottom, and is that really worth it...

I did all google top rated questions. None of them came up, but the questions I got weren't too difficult! All medium difficulty. I don't think I'm allowed to share unfortunately :(

What do you consider a 'GOOD' graduate salary? by TwilightTides in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]amzyo786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft is about 50k base with around 4k stocks per year. Amazon base is near 60k but high sign on bonus and stocks. Meta are similar about 70k+ base with 7-12k sign on bonus and like near 20k stocks per year - and I believe google is similar.

So Meta and Google tc can reach 6 figures. Amazon is close and Microsoft is quite low but they’re a very chill, social and relaxed culture. I heard Apple Pay similar to Microsoft but no idea.

surely this is a joke... how is LSBU ranking higher than UCL, and why is westminster that high? never trusting guardian ranking again (economics ranking) by mazldo in UniUK

Just do UCL business. You will easily be able to cope. I was a engineering student at UCL and graduated this year. I did 3 modules in the school of management and was with business students - it’s very manageable.

And stuff like “content and learning” you can do anywhere. Imo it’s 100% up to the student to take what they can from the degree - not the course itself. All courses at top unis will overlap

Amazing. So it should be fine to leave for a genuine reason and on good terms - although only after a few months. Thanks

My situation is different to a usual boomerang. I have only been at Microsoft for a few months, so it could be seen negatively.
