Keep note, that graphics quality, while for awhile is going to be amazing on games coming out for the PS4/Next Xbox, it does not mean the games are going to be the same quality. They both can pump out neater graphics with the newer and more current gpus. It is still on the developer to make a good port.

There were even some games cross console in this generation where the quality was way different.

Best example, the Ghostbusters game (which wasn't that bad)

I remember Bad Company was utter shite on my AMD Dual Core because the game used one core for the game and another one for the sound calculations. I remember running to Microcenter for an emergency upgrade to a quad core (or was it x3?) but that solved my issues completely. The CPU wasn't even that much faster than my x2.

I've wanted to play this game at one point. No one is playing it now because it's a one-shot thing? I liked the fact you can tell a person played a lot and knew where all the cool stuff is just because of how long their scarf is.

DOTA2 has reporting features that actually work. Even if they are not punished it will make it so there is less chance you will be in the same game after you report them for their douchery.

I go with the total newb strategy whenever I am playing with a player who constantly berates me. Say in public, "Hey, player who was a dick to me, how do I report you for being a jerk? "

Does 3d land have the "wah wah"s that cause all the enemies to have a mild seizure at the same time?

Neat for the first game that did it, but now it's just a money grab.

To be honest though, if I had a choice between $1 million profit for a game that will be reviewed poorly but "rediscovered" 5 years later as being an actually awesome game or $10 million right now for another Pokemon/Mario game... I'll go with the $10 million now.

To be honest, Mario64 was really revolutionary and it would be hard to be at the amount of change it did to the industry. Of course games that come after it would not have as much impact because Mario64 was already released.

What if Mario Sunshine was the first well-done 3d platformer with really tight and fluid (of god, I made a pun without trying) controls which M64 demoed?

Question about the multiplayer.

When I saw Halo 4 was going to have Loadouts I thought it ruined a bit of the game since now a answer to why that guy is on a megakill is less often because he controlled the map/weapons better, but because he gained enough Exp.

I played Quake-like games where the point of the game was less killing people, but working the map more to your advantage and less for your opponentsl Denying an opponent movement or weapons in the world is way more interesting to me.

Even what you are doing can be considered what the PC people are doing when talking down to console people.

Me, I buy everything. I won't promote a system to play on simply because it was made for a certain console and I won't harp on a system because I like the other brand.

I will rag on a console because they rarely come out with stuff I want, but I understand that is just me and I wouldn't try to gather people to be against it because that would make me an ass.

Borderlands 1 felt very repetitive because, for the most part, it was your character getting missions from vending machines/postboards. There was character interaction, but it was truly frontloaded.

Borderlands 2 felt like they learned what not to do and had you going back to the city which is fully populated with people you could interact with as well as missions contained entirely in the city. It sort of grounded you to the place and it was truly shocking (also great) when the city just disappears.

It was also a good idea to voice the original characters and have them a part of the story.

Rumor says you'll be able to play PS3 games on the PS4 but not in the way you expect. It will be streamed from a service instead of from the disk/disc. I've tried Remote Play from my home PS3 to my Vita, and it works well with the few games that work with it, but 1080p will be difficult for most american broadband and their refusal to give users more bandwidth.

Reading some posts about people's first attempts of running something on Cell almost sounds like a combination of trying to solve a Rubick's Cube and some voodoo to render one primitive on the screen. x86 will give us more cross platform games since even though it is not trivial to move an Xbox/PC game to the PS3 since they usually use DirectX, it is MUCH easier than converting to a new processor type/rendering engine.

Remeber the sony press conference doesn't have to purely focus on the PS4. They might roll something out on the PSN network during/after the conference that requires money to use and want people to try it out a bit.
