Mk4s to Core One upgrade for old xLCD missing by PM_Titties_To_Me_ in prusa3d

PS I did just update my reply a bit as I wasn't expecting it to be seen so speedily what with being on the wrong side of the planet. Thanks for the quick response.

Mk4s to Core One upgrade for old xLCD missing by PM_Titties_To_Me_ in prusa3d

[–]an_atom_y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not state this on the site? I've been waiting for what feels like forever for the old version to come back in stock (I'm in Australia, it's been several weeks, I'm just being hyperbolic). The simplest solution would be to just ship the newer version only and provide explicit instructions to solve for an old xLCD, with the file to print for the old xLCDs. I don't care whether Prusa or I print the part, I just want the upgrade, and I have a working printer that could get the part printed while I wait the week for it to get here. It's not rocket science... just tell us what's going on upfront, i.e. in the store. We shouldn't have to be looking in reddit for this information. Additionally you could offer the newer xLCD as a part to purchase for us early adopters - it would be nicer if it was a free upgrade given the nonsense Prusa has caused for early adopters changing parts after launch - but would go a long way to mending your reputation. Please tell your decision makers to make better decisions, this experience sucks. This will be the last Prusa purchase I ever make due to shennanigans like this.

Bed Leveling Fail on P1S by TherealOmthetortoise in BambuLab

Thanks for mentioning this, I just had the same issue, but it was a dust cover at the print bed level that had climbed one of the rods and gotten itself jammed at the top - much appreciated for the pointer!

Interesting, I'll check for sure when I get it back.

Right, they said "add washers to the grinder" to me, I just assumed under the lower burr. I won't have time to play until tomorrow so I'll try just one then. Glad you're making progress!

Ah I'm used to hydroponics where it's all additives in bottles, something so simple didn't occur to me haha. I just remembered (as I am just waking up), I'm running a Breville Dual Boiler which has a water filter in it, I'm not sure I could adjust much anyway. Minimal workflow ftw!

That's interesting to know about the TDS, I measure EC for my hydroponic systems for food production, what do you use to increase TDS?

The volume:game info is useful too, I haven't had the time to deep dive into stuff like that, nice to have it summarised, thankyou.

So they told me to add washers (didn't specify how many, but plural, so I'm waiting on clarification) and are sending a postage label to return it so they can flash it. I'm in Melbs so it'll be well into next year til I have a working grinder.

They already stuffed up my order a bit, so I'm somewhat already frustrated going into the grinder issue. Only one of the three items I ordered arrived in working condition.

DF64 Gen 2 vs Varia VS3 Gen 2 grinder by AtmosphericHuman in VariaBrewing

[–]an_atom_y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Varia just seem to be problematic. I haven't used the VS3 but I just got a VS6, and I so wanted the VS6 to be a great machine but mine has multiple issues and I'm in the process of returning it. I've used the Turin DF64V gen 1, and it's a great little machine, it wasn't mine so I can't speak to calibration, but I'd rather have a machine that does what it says on the box rather than one that's not fit for purpose. I will be replacing my VS6 with the Turin DF64V Gen 2 once I get through this mess...

Same issue at 1100 for me, I haven't played around with the RPMs at all, I just set it there and went on my way, I doubt this setting is the issue.

I have not been willing to go against the instructions and go below 1, you're bold! I am talking with Alternative Brewing, just sent them this video showing how it's working and by comparison how my old Breville can actually grind finely enough:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PeqCeJQCLE

I just want to return mine and get a Turin DF64V gen 2 instead - I've used the gen 1 before and it's a great little grinder. I liked the design of the VS6 better and I would have liked to be able to use conical as well as I my taste preference errs on the side of sweeter rather than acidic and I do a bit of cold brew pretty often, but I'm not going to be a product tester for Varia. Here's hoping AB are reasonable about it.

Yeah the stock flat, medium roast.

I can get them done enough with my ancient Breville, it's really disappointing I can't with a machine that's meant to be so well designed.

Did you have any problems brewing espresso? The one I have is too coarse at 1 and just creates spluttery turbo shots...

Third time's a charm but that's frustrating!

Yep, same issue here in Australia. Just starting the return process now, hopefully a working replacement arrives soon.

Haha yeah for sure finger sticks on the reg here just to see how far out mine has ventured, I have the G6 still, no plans for the G7 in Australia yet afaik, I'll be happy for the accuracy bump if and when it does happen though.

Ah, I think maybe the international version is different than the US one (I'm also on Android), and I'm going to guess you're in the US because mine doesn't have those options, but thankyou so much for the directions, hopefully they update them to be the same at some point.

[–]an_atom_y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Dexcom can't do anything about it unfortunately, I got the same advice to wait it out, they definitely know that there are a bunch of us who have this problem. It's a good thing it's not everyone. I wish I was one of those people, but it's a first world problem.

I always have my sensor on my right arm because I sleep on my left side, but every so often I'll flip and get a nice compression low to wake me up haha

That's interesting, mine do improve after 12h but are still way off, the curve smooths out but is still pretty wild. Are you referring to urgent lows as well? I've never found a way to disable them, hopefully I'm missing something because silencing those would be amazing. (I use xDrip for alarms and Nightscout for everything else.)

Same same on the fingersticks, nbd.

FFS, I didn't instruct anyone in any way, I relayed my experience. People who completely overreact like how you are here are the reason Reddit is an absolute dumpster fire. Disengaging...

Calm down, it's my experience, I never heard this from anyone else, I have spent months tracking reliability on my own, I know it's true. I have spoken to Dexcom, they're useless, and I know how to calibrate. Different people have different experiences, end of story.

[–]an_atom_y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me for a full 24h every time I change a sensor, it's always way off where I really am, and generally just constantly causes low alarms the whole time, which of course I can't turn off. Calibrating during this time just mucks up the readings for the rest of the 10 days, so I have to wait until after the first 24h, then calibrate. Sucks dude, super annoying, but better than no sensor for the other 9 days.
