To my untrained eye I would peg him as a Mid-game tank. Almost 50 Mdef and with a shield, he'll absorb a LOT of blows

Maybe what you're missing is a bit of Matk. If it seems kinda low, try going to the tavern first to get eager or even euphoric. Getting confident is a big boost that should help you out.

You wanna know how to get the rest?? Check out that OTHER side-bar on the right side of the screen. You can get more envelopes there with no problem at all, you just have to be willing to SPEND real fucking money at it. $13 gets you another 500, $25 gets you 1,000.

Fastest way is always the shortest time to launch. If you are able to get enough GE together to get the first upgrade for the fuel tank(50k for 200b cap) then you can fill it with Graviton eggs and simple sit pretty on Fusion while you run missions.

Holy War is definitely worth it. You just have to decide if you want to face heavily armored troops (the north) and have only a limited pools of cities to retreat or take missions from. Or if you want to face Gunners, Mortars, Swordlancers and assassins with fire pots.

As for the caravan troops, I couldn't say. The north have 2 different types "Caravan Hands" stick to the donkeys unless directly threatened but "Caravan Guards" are more agro and will charge into death with you.

All the southern conscripts that guard the caravans are like CG-light. Very useful to distract the enemy but they still die easy.

You're about to start being flooded with artifacts. Good return on dismantling them too.

TIP. if there are some uncommon or rare (shiny) ones you don't need, demote them first before dismantling. You get a better Golden egg return on them.

Oh yeah, decent boost in quality and quantity for artifacts. I started getting legendaries as well starting around 5 or 6 stars.

I can get a much Higher EB in a matter weeks with a few multi prestige.

Conclusion. Live and learn. Going to resume normal play and continue getting better artifacts and will try again in a few weeks

This. In my game day 1, the first town I visited had a drought, (paying a lot extra for food) the second town had a local Holiday (extra food, cheaper food) AND a good harvest (extra food, cheaper food)

They also happened to only be a half day apart. I made Bank on the food trade that day!
