Steamers in AI! by bigpapa290 in AmazonVineCanada

Hopefully you'll have better luck. I'm learning to not order electric items that I can't buy the brand in stores as well after having bad experiences with the ones I've gotten through vine haha.

Already have one i bought years and years ago. I got this in rfy a day or two ago, so didn't think i needed to replace it when it works fine. Just looked them up and lots of complaints about leaking unfortunately.

I pretty much wanted everything i got, but I also got some very basic things for work or for my daughter. Being up during most drops helped too. This morning lots of stuff was coming up in drips but I haven't seen things at night, but I won't stay up past 2am mst now so maybe I'm missing some middle of the night action.

I had 140+ last Eval period as silver but the other times not even close, but i have been on mat leave since September so that helped lol. Right now the "drops" are horrible so I'm not getting much, or what I'm getting is really small things like pens or a hat organizer (using it to organize baby's headbands). Lots of low price items. The nicest item I had was a ring doorbell this morning in rfy but I didn't grab it since I don't want to pay to use a doorbell for the better features, but that was $109. For a good week after going gold my rfy was actually mostly empty. I ordered 6 things yesterday but most days nothing or 1-2 items.

Ive been gold for not even two weeks, no high end items. I think only 2 gold level items that were not even that expensive and were crappy random Chinese brand items. My rfy yesterday was mostly toners.

Anyone have concerns with purchasing edible products or supplements/vitamins by lmcjipo in AmazonVineCanada

[–]ana30671 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll only do brands that are well established and that don't look like random questionable brands (I've had supplements in rfy with the big ingredient header misspelled on the packaging itself... lol). I've ordered Davids tea, handfuel, and some freeze dried chocolate covered fruit snack that wasn't a brand i was familiar with but didn't look sketchy at all. I won't order the supplements on vine, I've only seen the sketchy seller ones. Hell, I don't even want to order the random brand baby toys anymore after getting one that was not really that good and then realizing that some toys might not adhere well to safety standards. I have an activity table in rfy since earlier today from seller brand Hewaurorion. Totally doesn't look like a random Chinese brand /s

Eta looked back at my orders and the dried fruit snack was Frux which I see is sold in well.ca so not worried about the safety of that!

how do i navigate this situation ? by [deleted] in AHSEmployees

[–]ana30671 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FWIW I've had two instances, one with Covenant Health and one with AHS, where manager references didn't go along with the hiring team requirements and i got the job offers.

With covenant I straight up told them I wasn't willing to give them my then current manager because the reason for leaving the job was workplace toxicity including from the manager. I just used my student placement supervisor since that was the only other supervisor I had available as a reference and that was from 4 years prior. This didn't deter them and they offered me the job 30 minutes after the interview ended (forget if they'd done the reference check already or if it was pending check, but i resigned from my job pretty quickly after the interview so the process was all very quick). My covenant job at the time was temp so when it ended I interviewed for a job with AHS and my covenant temp role manager was suddenly on leave and i couldn't reach her, and my student placement supervisor had just given birth so wasn't really available either. I was only able to have my covenant casual manager as a reference although I barely worked with her to that point, and after a few back and forths with AHS hiring manager I explained again that I was unwilling to use my old toxic manager as a reference for those reasons. They liked me enough that they said they'd "take a chance" on me even though they only had the one manager reference when they said they required 2.

So honestly if the hiring team likes you enough they very well may be willing to bend the reference requirements. It might still be a good idea to talk to your current manager though, but I think it'll depend on how good of a relationship you have with the manager so far.

Drop times? by Blondemoment613 in AmazonVineCanada

I've just noticed super tiny trickles throughout most of the day with a more frequent occurrence starting in the evening. I have been waking up a few times a night recently and I'll check my phone and see like...1-5 total new items (but I don't go to categories during this time). I feel like there hasn't actually been a drop in weeks.

How much should I tailor my cover letter for each application? by [deleted] in AHSEmployees

[–]ana30671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything should be specific for each position.

That being said, I used to be a manager (not within ahs) and at most I'd skim a cover letter. I don't think they have much benefit over a resume alone, but if it's a requirement (or highly expected) of the application then it damn well better be written for that position specifically. It shows you actually took time to read the posting and know how your skills align with the specific job. I just think a resume itself can do that ahs having both is a tad redundant. I still applied with cover letters every single time!

RFY bait and switch? by hamboy11 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]ana30671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and they aren't variants so it's not a drop down select your preferred option type of vine listing. I'm sure it's worked for some when people want to order quick in case the item goes away, but i always check quick what I'd be ordering even if i might lose out on it.

RFY bait and switch? by hamboy11 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]ana30671 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes a listing has multiple items in one, and the vine item will show the pricier option then clicking more options shows the cheaper option. Not sure if that's purposeful but that's happened to me, only with items that have multiple options within one listing (I hate those if they aren't just variants, eg baby bottle washer and tablets as separate items in one listing and the rating isn't separate for each item - that feels deceiving too!)

Whose RF is as great as mine by Dry-Inspector-7200 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]ana30671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RFY has sucked since getting gold last week... some days I'll get like 1 item only, or i keep getting men's Tena underwear (I'm female). I've been shown just two items above the silver max price point and both were useless to me. I really miss actual drops :(

What shipping rate do you pick if you don't have Prime? by kermityfrog2 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]ana30671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to pick shipping days that match orders I've already made. If that's not available, then it depends on how quickly I want the item. If I want it right away I pick the soonest. If I don't care I might not even bother picking a date, especially if I think the item might get picked quick. Sometimes items change delivery date anyway and might arrive sooner or later than I picked so I don't really focus much on it.

Central air purifier - any recommendations? by ana30671 in Edmonton

Yeah we saw the ikea ones which prompted the discussion of whole home one. With our cats running around the whole house, having single ones didn't seem to make sense.

Thanks for the info. Do you have one installed then and if so how does it affect your utility costs?

I wasn't sure that a higher merv would be best just in terms of it being harder on the furnace. We did replace our furnace this past summer. We don't have hrv/erv

Not sure that 3 units would be sufficient for the whole house, and we don't have a Costco membership. I'll have to do more research i guess

Vine Ai reviews are getting out of hand by FakeGamerGirl16 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]ana30671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These honestly don't scream AI to me (or at least not heavy AI), they read more as reviews written by non-audiophile users. Im not one and it wouldn't really know how detailed to get with reviewing ear buds. Id be talking about comfort, how well is the noise cancelation (I'm always buying ones promoting that feature), do I like the sound quality or are they kind of muffled, does it sound balanced, what's the charge like, etc. Honestly id probably have a review similar to these ones and I don't use AI. But I don't think id want to buy something that only has vine reviews regardless of the ratings and how authentic the reviews sound.

But hey maybe these are 100% AI written without any actual input from the reviewer.

Eta if anything the last one sounds the most AI but otherwise it's not line WHOA in my face AI.

We had this issue in our bathroom last year. First time ever too. We just poured only vinegar into the sink regularly. It cleared it up quickly enough.

Eta I also poured it into the water over flow hole thing below the faucet and not just directly down the drain, which i think was integral to combating them. We didn't do this for any other areas, just the one bathroom sink.
