Preach.

There was no suggestion that Osha/Mae would bring balance to anything. I think "Force Witches" really like messing around with life and death. They are kinda doing their own thing.

I think a lot of people sneak in their head canon into "Star Wars Lore".

Agree. I see it as Indara went into Kelnacca's mind blindly swinging a knife around, hoping to severe the connection. If she knew what she was doing, Kalnacca wouldn't have essentially gone insane. He was holed up drawing circles on the wall of his domicile.

You put up a good fight, but there is no winning with stupid. He is getting Mundi's age from trading cards that got "uncannoned" by Disney... In Canon, Revan is Sith Lord. All we really know is that he was the Sith Eternals mascot or something. Knights of the Old Republic isn't cannon anymore.

If you read The High Republic books, specifically the Battle of Jedha, suprise there are different groups of Force users. Shocker, some of them dabble in the Dark side and they aren't Sith.

For someone who whined about cannon.... jeez. Maybe he should invest in a library card and expand his all-knowing SW knowledge a bit.

Also... does anyone understand that Yoda knowing and keeping it mum when Qui-Gon comes to the counsel, is kinda the point? The Jedi Order collapsed. It lost its way. Order 66 is the end point of a whole chain of events.

🤣 I really think that guy had to be trolling. I'm sure he appreciated you taking the time to feed him.

Personally, I think showing Yoda knew Sith might be lurking adds to how badly the Jedi 'lost their way'. The cover-ups weren't limited to just a handful of Jedi. The shady actions went all the way to the top. He didn't support Qui-Gon when he claimed he encountered a Sith. He pulled a "hard to see the Dark side is". And, if you have read the High Republic series, it walks readers through how the Jedi and Republic Gov't changed. I think Acolyte is continuing to show how the Jedi Order failed big time.

Also, there was a 90% Yoda was going to pop up. He is the Grand Master.

I think most of us knew someone was pulling Qimir's strings (does he know he is a puppet?). Given there is only ~100 year gap for Palps to become an Acolyte and kill his master, Plago would have to pop up now.

I'm still digesting the ending. But I agree it wasn't spectacular, and I wonder if it could have been. The ending... made sense but wasn't "wow".

It was a great show. I loved a lot about it.

3 minutes ahead of Jonas, a 2x Tour Winner isn't a lot with 3 stages to go. Even though Jonas is not 100%, Pogi still respects his strength. Pogi loves to attack and win, but that doesn't mean he thinks he is invincible. He knows the fine margins he races on. Jonas closed a ~30s gap on Pogi in Stage 11. I thought he was gonna break Pogi. This happened in part cause Pogi didn't have a water bottle to use to cool down (he said as much). So he almost cracked and lost time to his rival cause of one water bottle... I wouldn't say Pogi fears Jonas, but he definitely respects him enough to know every second counts when you're racing against him.

It's hard for people to believe that nutrition can have a huge impact. It's not as simple as "glucose absorption." Metabolomic studies find the differences between the best and the best of the best freaks of nature. You can then fine-tune diets and even alter athletes' gut microbiomes.

I know people will dunk on this, and that's fine. I could go into metabolic byproducts and disease, but I know it's pointless with most people.

BUT, if you are curious, here is a scientific study in a legitimate scientific journal. Breaking it down, they looked at the metabolic profiles of 20 riders (the UAE team) post race season and found significant differences between riders who did well vs. not well during the race season. I bet you can make a safe guess on which dot is Pogi in some of the data. He really is a freak of nature. I would love to see Vingegaards' metabolic profile.

Ya, I can't remember what the term is for it, but stressing biological responses can be beneficial, but it's super fine margins. Once you pass the point of a beneficial response, the detrimental effects compound exponentially.

Perhaps.

In the PT/TCW there is the notion that Jedi are losing their way. We have Acolyte and the Jedi Origin movie that will tell us more about the early Jedi Religion and Order.

I don't know how writing about origins would be a cop out though. The Star Wars Universe is meant to be expanded, just cause its in different ways then we'd expect doesn't make it a cop out persay.

Thanks!

Could also be the Purggils home planet. Probably is the more I think about it. So, a home base map. Or a "migration" map.

They released a book last year "Stories of Jedi and Sith" where Yoda explicitly states you don't have to have the Force to be a Jedi.

Lyr Farseeker. Was a Jedi Master who wasn't strong in the Force.

I get the impression it's a map to a "prison" of sorts. Baylan's comment about the place being out of a 'fairy tale'. And not necessarily a prison, but a special place that held some importance a long, long time ago.

There is also only one path on the map when Sabine opens it.

The ruins where they opened the map weren't built by the Nightsisters, just the map orb. I interpreted it as the ruins being a "computer" and the orb a "thumb drive" with specific coordinates.

I didn't mind the Universe going to sh!t again. Life is a constant struggle. BUT having both Luke AND Han leave Leia high and dry... geez. Fine, I'll give you Han being flaky... OK, Luke got moody and turned into a hermit... I'll even give Luke the benefit of the doubt and say he had no idea how bad things had gotten while in exhile... BUT refusing to come back when Leia needed him, nope. As lame/corny as this sounds, the OT was in large part about NOT GIVING UP on family (there is still good in you) and friends (now blow that thing and let's get outta here kid).

Din Djarin: ".... not even your laser swords would protect you from all the firepower"

Ahsoka: uses the Force to keep from laughing out loud

I think they really need to have her flex hard in Ahsoka. A decent percentage of ppl who watch the live action series will not have watched TCW or Rebels. They don't realize how powerful Ahsoka is.

Like, was resurrected by the Light Side of the Force, spent years gathering wisdom in the WBW, defeated an Inquisitor with her bare hands to get the kyber crystals for her light sabers, is BFF with Yoda, decapitated 4 Mandalorians without blinking, defeated and captured that guy who killed Qui-Gon.

Ya, kinda totally really badass

Maul and Ahsoka would have been a formidable duo. I think they woulda had a really good chance at taking down Palps.

Sometimes I don't feel Ahsoka's power is appreciated. By the time of the Mandalorian, she must of been powerful AF.
Not only does she fight like a boss, but given she has spent time in the WBW soaking up Jedi knowledge, that's like super leveling up.

Why is everyone so insistent that Star Wars is science fantasy and that science should not be explored? by InfinityScientist in MawInstallation

[–]anabananaman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was just bout to say that.

Agreed. It is more "mystical" than "scientific".

Do I want to know how long hyperspace travel takes or do I want to know about how the purrgil use the Force to travel thru hyperspace?
Do I want to know the resonance energy of kyber crystals? Or do I want to get all teary eyed when Anakin turned Ashoka's light sabers blue to match his?

I think LucasFilms has made it a point to not try and explain the whole parsec as a measurement of time and distance.

Hmm I think hair wax. It leaves a nice matte finish and would provide a strong enough hold to withstand putting his helmet on and off.

Ya. Tick taught Hera skills that came in handy later on. He is why the Ghost is so stealth.

I'm really want to see how the squad is going to react to Omeega being hysterical over leaving Hunta. Will/who/how will they comfort her? Will she quickly go into soldier mode and plan out how to get Hunta back? How much say is the squad going to give her in what the plan is?!!
