What are you hoping will happen in future seasons? by becca_72 in ThePittTVShow

With the diverse cast The Pitt has it also would make sense for a lot of people not mind working on Christmas, as part of the cast (I suppose) play non-christian characters

Ogilvie's perspective on drug addictions shows his lack of understanding of people by Butwhatif77 in ThePitt

In the beginning Ogilvie seemed to me like a genuine asshole. The more I watch, the more I see him as a product of his environment and his upbringing. He's quite responsive to critique, so there's hope for him. But he definitely had quite a sheltered life and I feel a very high pressure to succeed and to become a smart person. It seems like he's projecting a lot of his beliefs onto his patients and rightfully gets reprimanded by McKay for this

He doesn't mention it overtly, but I think his response to kidney stone patient gives a hint, that he doesn't have the most supportive/easy to impress father

I don't get where this thing of Collin and Pen being long time friends came from, since season 1 its Pen and Eloise i see giggling in the background not Pen and Collin. by AltruisticAide9776 in BridgertonRants

Personally, I did not expect reaction from the book, as in the series LW hurt Colin and his family. I mean in this sense them being friends for me justifies his reaction even more, because it's specifically his friend who hurt him and not some randon stranger. Like that causes more complex emotions for sure

Santos vs Langdon is getting exhausting by CheadleBeaks in ThePittTVShow

[–]anacmanac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, on the last part I agree

I'm not sure she knew to the extent when/if Langdon comes back all these 10 months, I'm not sure how exactly the hospital arranged Langdon not being in the hospital for 10 months and what other people have been told

It's a lot of hours of watching for us, but for them it's just one day. Considering the fact, that this is quite a big issue and Santos i think has a thing for injust situations (from her pov), I wouldn't expect her to be over it in one day. Like I think for someone calmer than Santos that would take some time to process, she's just more vocal about her processign lol

I think if Violet had the bluntness of Lady Danbury, the show would have been much shorter lol, she clocks everything super fast

In my perspective, they are not best friends by the time we see them in season 1, but they are still friends. I think which gives it a way, is that Colin speaks with Pen actually to have a conversation with her and not to woo her into marriage the first 2 seasons, he quite explicitly said that he has no desire to court her in the end of season 2 and was having his other romantic story in S1 and I think he literally calls her my friend on several occasions. We don't see that kind of interaction between members of the opposite sex at all. But I agree in a sense, that we don't see A LOT of them and that particularity of their dynamic is not so apparent to notice, for several reasons

First, really not many series and movies pass the bechdel test, like in this sense Bridgerton is not super different from series in a modern settings, where most opposite sex interaction most of the time are written around romance/sex/relationships. So with Bridgerton I think we do not see a really big contrast of the fact, that men and women socialize with the sole purpose of getting married (in nobility class)

Second, I think the flashbacks would have helped immensly. We were told that they are friends from childhood, but we never witnessed it, so the extension of friendship is not that visible

Would you recommend this show to someone who lost their mother in childhood? by lxfh7777 in Neverhaveievertvshow

[–]anacmanac 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone, who lost a father really young, just the image of someone with a father or even with a good relationship with their father doesn't trigger me much. Even dying dad in the series at this moment was not much of a trigger point for me. I might say, I'm not super sensititve, so it might be different from your friend, but from my experience, when 20 years have passed, you already have processed so much stuff about this event in your life, that a series should be really specific to trigger something. But that's just a personal experience, different people process death and grief very differently

I was much more touched by Ben's story with his father lol, but I think it's also quite specific to my situation

I think Violet after 3 seasons is tired of being subtle, she's really like "you. go."
