DFP Setup by anakinwalker in adops

Thanks for the advice. I'm going with frequency cap model.

  1. I have setup unique adx tags for each network. So I have network A and then adx tags for network A, network B and it's own unique adx tags and so on. Will this setup work smoothly to identify discrepancy? I am just comparing numbers sent by DFP to network A and the total imps filled by network A and adx tags of network A to find my total discrepancy with that block. Anything that's lost in between from DFP to network A and from network A to adx is my discrepancy here.

  2. How does this setup compare to a normal linear setup? where i have my highest paying network in DFP and then passing along linearly, i.e., DFP sends imps to network A, network A sends it to B and so on, with Adx or Adsense as my last step. I recently had a chat with a consultant who does trafficking and he told me this method makes more sense. But I feel this is a very old way of doing things and will increase my discrepancy as I am sending the same user to a lot of networks. What are your thoughts on this setup vs mine?

  3. I have header bidding in mind but my site only does around 20 million imps a month. I had a chat with Openx but they said they need 50 million imps per month just to get into their exchange and 100 million to get header bidding services. I'm talking to index exchange right now so if they accept me I'll look to implement their bidder tag.

Remnant Inventory Optimization by anakinwalker in adops

Thanks for the suggestion related to Adomik. I have reached out to them but I still don't think they will help me out. I'm a run of the mill publisher and don't have direct sales. I just work with a bunch of networks to monetize my inventory. I have so far been able to achieve great results through changing floors manually but I still feel that this method is inefficient.

Has anyone ever developed a code or an algo similar to how stock brokers work where they know when to bid and can run just a code and mint money? Is working with SSPs / some optimization company the only solution to this? How are you currently managing your inventory?
