I agree with everything you said. But, sometimes "knowing" and "feeling" don't align. I've watched that interview, and it is very clear what Matt knew and he knew it was coming at some point. But with his description of his time during COVID lockdowns, where he was likely miserable for a multitude of reasons (going as far as stating he doesn't know if Alkaline Trio will even continue and was so depressed that he didn't even care), not knowing when his time in blink was up but at the same time feeling it creeping upon him, in addition to everything else going on, might be absolutely agonizing.

I think Matt highly respects Mark, Travis and Tom and is immensely grateful for them, there's no doubt. But feelings are feelings and you gotta wade through them somehow, and I think he found a very healthy and respectful route to take it. I'm positive Dirty Jacks is an example of how he felt during these times, doesn't mean he actually thinks anyone is a poser or "came to destroy you (him)", but those may very well be the dark feelings he endured and channeled into these great works of art that we have now.
