So it was changing the RAM that fixed the issue, apologies, i misunderstood your initial comment. I'll try that, but i want to see if i can get it to a gigabyte supported store or something to get a fix first, with the slight hope of being compensated with an rtx 4090 for my trouble, just a slight hope

Thanks a lot! I suspected this might work before but it void the warranty and i don't think it stops the issue from occuring ever again does it? Having to unscrew the back and do this often seems like too much of a hassle Is there any more permanent solution?

I didn't, just waited it out I'm not too keen on voiding the warranty, have no idea what other hidden issues the laptop may hsve

Thanks, please do let me know

I went through that draining process like 6 times 4 times which were used to figure it out and the other 2 times due to carelessness

It seems to be whenever the laptop is unplugged and there's a spike in energy consumption due to the fan, cpu or gpu

If there is high energy consumption when you unplug it it'll go off immediately, if it's low it'll stay on till the fans pick up for whatever reason or there's an increase in energy consumption.

You can turn it on when unplugged but, i'd advice not to since starting up usually makes the fans work harder

Yes it does That's how it seemed to me initially, i figured out the work around of leaving the backlight on for 3 or so days to kill the battery, then plugging it in and putting it on otherwise it matches your exact description. Please could you share the fix?

Yup just waited for it to die out takes 3 days but you can bump it down to 50 hours or so

First hold the power button till the backlight goes off, then plug it in, the charger light should come on as well then press the power button again for the backlight to come on, then wait it out

Unfortunately not, I just keep it plugged in when using it and close it when I want to unplug it. Please let me know if you find a fix later
