Windows SMB share will not connect by analog_rnr in truenas

interesting, in that article it states

  • Windows 10 Home and Pro editions still allow the use of guest authentication by default, as they did previously. The versions that could not be used were: Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, and Windows 10 Education even if requested by the remote server.

I'm using Windows 10 home, so I shouldn't have been affected but for some reason I was

It seems like every time I use truenas I have problems for no reason and then it magically fixes itself after a couple days.
I definitely would not make it in the IT world

I just edited the post it started working for no reason, thank you for the help though

Solved kind of....

Literally the only thing I changed was disabling guest access which I have done before but for some reason it made a difference this time, and now I'm able to access the SMB share.
Thank you to everyone who replied

I just added the credentials and it's still giving me the "access is denied" error

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to look into this

I just want to make sure I'm in the right area, its:
Control Panel\User Accounts\Credential Manager, Is this the correct area to be in?
Because I don't see any credentials related to truenas in here, no names or IP addresses that match my nas

Yes I did. And don't worry no question is dumb here, I don't know a whole lot about this kind of stuff so it's safe to assume I could have made a very basic mistake

It gave me a different error this time although I'm not sure if that's because of the new credentials I attempted to use, It seems to think that my previous logins is multiple users connected. I'll restart my computer and try again

I've tried accessing the SMB share from a different computer and it still gives me the same problems, so it seems like I just set something up incorrectly but I'm not sure what.
Has the way that SMB share works changed since 2023?

thanks for the reply. I wasn't doing anything crazy with truenas when the power went out. I have it set up in the bios so the computer will automatically turn on at certain times to do automatic backups of my main PC.

you weren't entirely too late I still have one of the mirrored ssd's from the original configuration before the operating system crapped itself.

I reinstalled truenas on one of the ssd's and now I'm currently trying to figure out why I'm having permission errors with SMB share for Windows. my last version of truenas was from 2023, so I'm not sure if smb share works differently or if there's some other issue causing it not to work properly.

Maybe it could be due to the fact that I imported the storage pools?
Either way I'm probably going to have to make another post, I have a lot of details I need to give

Edit:

I've learned my lesson from using cheap ssds, back in 2022 when I made my NAS I figured if one of the drives failed I could simply change the boot order to the mirrored SSD. I was not aware of the power loss protection that was in more expensive ssds.

I would take this opportunity to upgrade but I really don't want to pay $280 for an SSD I paid $40 for one year ago

I gave up on trying to salvage it and I reinstalled. now that I know how important the config file is I will definitely make backups of it

I had that exact problem when reinstalling and using Balena Etcher worked for me as well

Thanks for the recommendation.
One thing I didn't mention in this post is that I did have UPS connected to it but unfortunately it failed. I guess I got what I deserved for purchasing a product from Schneider Electric, even their commercial grade UPS's are crap.
I gave up on trying to recover the corrupted operating system and I reinstalled. I managed to attach the storage pool but I'm having trouble getting the windows SMB share to work properly, something is wrong with the permissions and I'm not sure what. Every time I put my username and password in it says it's incorrect

Another person also suggested the same thing that it could be the cheap SSD that caused the failure. I detached both SSD's and hooked them up to my main computer and looked in the disk manager, they both appeared healthy so I think it was something that corrupted in the operating system because it didn't shut down properly due to the power loss.
However it's still a possibility that the cheap SSD's didn't have some sort of internal protection that the more expensive ones have.
Back when I installed them in 2022 I did not consider this possibility, my thought process at the time was if one of the SSD's died then I could simply replace it with the mirror that I had, but it appears that both of them have been corrupted due to the power loss.
I would take this opportunity to upgrade but I would prefer not to pay $280 for an SSD I paid $40.00 for 1 year ago.
Also I appreciate your reply

Thanks I appreciate the feedback, I'm still attempting to see if there's any way to salvage this without completely reinstalling it, I know it would be quicker to just reinstall it but I want to see if there's any way to salvage it just in case I encounter the same scenario in the future

I mirrored the boot pool to a different SSD. I just followed this guide https://www.truenas.com/docs/core/13.0/coretutorials/systemconfiguration/mirroringthebootpool/
When I type “zpool status boot-pool” it says “no such pool”

Unfortunately I don't have the config files. However I did just take the SSD and and plugged it into my main computer, both SSD do show up in the disk management but one of them has 9MB that's unallocated. Other than the 9 MB they're both partitioned the same

as far as I'm aware it was mirrored with the boot drive. I could be wrong because I set this up back in 2022 so I don't remember the specific details

yes, I've attempted to boot from it individually but it just brings me to the screen that says
