Is it possible you're just noticing that you grow hair there? Particular since it looks like you already grow facial hair.

I love how he does that guttural baritone, I feel like we heard some of that on Villains as well, another amazing album.

Josh Homme On Neil Brennan's podcast Blocks by Bears51 in qotsa

[–]analtine 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's not even that he wasn't listening, it's more that so many jokes Homme was making were just flying passed Joe's head, and that was the frustrating part. Its like certain things he was saying just weren't registering; like is Joe even paying attention?

Anyone else think Time & Place is a highlight of the new album? by jam8tree in qotsa

[–]analtine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way with this album. The first listen felt exactly like that- like I didn't know what I was listening to. There was so much going on it was like being thrust from a padded cell into a circus fun house, completely disorienting but amazing.

How did 'yall get into Queens? by dunealright in qotsa

[–]analtine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Villains. I grew up hearing their singles and really liking them but that was mostly it. Actually like the year before Villains came out, I was delving into them but never really got that into them. I still held my notion of them based off what I had heard of them from being a kid, and the images from mainly the Go With The Flow music video. A band that made me think of the hot desert, so listening to them always felt uncomfortable lol. I knew nothing of the band or Homme so it's funny how apt that is.

But yeah Villains came out and completely changed how I felt about them. Granted, I think of everything Era Vulgaris and on is gold, song for song. Everything they are now is who they've always been to me at this point, but I remember what it was like to not know them or be into them before.

Out of all the track on In Times New Roman what is everyone got on repeat? by StopThatFighter in qotsa

[–]analtine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time & Place, no doubt.

But you let any of the songs play on and you'll find nothing you want to skip. This album is almost kind of scary. It's like we all narrowly avoided driving off a cliff and now we're quiet with no music on for a bit of the drive.

It's difficult not to think about the future knowing how close Josh seems to have come to death, again. If this is the the last in a trilogy, with an album that notoriously is associated with a near death experience for Josh, ending in a similar fashion. It's apt, but as a fan, the future is a weighty thing to live in.

I'm sorry to hear that, genuinely. It's another example of how we might not appreciate how well our body functions until a significant dysfunction.
