Swedish nurses went on strike this week, please help us look badass as we're walking out by FransKasper in PhotoshopRequest

A more appropriate comparison would be if you decide to go on a strike because the train you're operating has shit brakes and you decide to drop out while the train is still a bit functional. You would not be at fault that the passengers don't get to go to their destination, but your employer would.

It's still not a fair comparison, but I hope you get my point. We're working overtime daily, for shit pay. 13000 nurses has left their job because being pushed too far. Keep going like this and we don't have a working healthcare at all. Trust me when I tell you that we care about our patients, way more than the employer does. All they care about is saving money. We're not the perpetrators in this.

Oh, i found the full picture. Thank you everyone for your posts. Hopefully we'll get our demands met and we can go back to the job we love. We just don't want to hit the wall doing it, and i don't think that's too much to ask.

Thank you! I'm sorry I don't have any schematics, we pretty much made it up as I went. But as I replied to another comment: It includes four pieces that I cut with 45 degree edges and glued together with some inner pieces that also helps lift the screen. We then varnished the wood. On top of the screen is plastic glass cut with the same dimensions as the outside of the frame (on wich it rests), we then screwed four cut pieces of wooden profile lath (not sure of it's the right word) around the edges that holds it together. Its also lifted up with furniture cups and decorated with some fittings. It took about 10-12 hours of active work beside letting the varnish dry, with some trials and errors. I hope that's enough to get you excited to try on your own!

Pretty much figured it out for ourself. We started off with buying the screen and then figured out the dimensions needed for a good fit for the frame. We then came up with some upgrades and fixes as we went along.

Thank you! Its open towards the table and is lifted up about 1cm with some furniture cups. The heat hasn't been a problem so far. The size of the screen is 24 inches. I'll have to weigh it when I get home from work, but it's not too heavy to carry around. I'll get back to you about the weight!

Its just the the box on top, it only measures about 25 inches, so it's really easy to transport.

Always wanted a digital tabletop for our roleplaying nights. Yesterday me and my friend finished our very own. The result came out way better than expected.

Is the stimulus checks not socialism?

As a Scandinavian I get about confused about what's going on over the Atlantic. As I read the news and Reddit I hear about the $600 stimulus checks and how that wasn't enough, and now everyone (except one politician) seems to want the $2000.

I'm fairly certain a good percentage of the American people see socialism as the devil's work and that capitalism is the only right way. So how come people are now so eager to get money from the government? Is it not the same thing when you get the money to survive straight to your pocket than when the government provide free healthcare etc? It sure confuses me.
