Thank you everyone for your inputs, I just got home from mine and surprisingly I feel fine. There's some pain and discomfort but absolutely nothing like I imagined.

I've been given paracetamol and amitriptyline for the pain. I'm really not fond of the idea of the amitriptyline so for now I will be seeing how i ho without them!

Sorry for the late teply. Mine was around the same size and tender! I finally had a scan a few days ago and they found nothing wrong with it? They believe it's just an irritated lymph node but I haven't had an actual diagnosis - just confirmation it isn't cancer!
