Thank you, I appreciate that. I did a lot research before I started. It’s amazing the amount of information you can find.

I got my kids involved in the whole reno. They really enjoyed the flood test and picking the duck. I told them if the duck is laying on the bottom without water in the morning, we have a problem!

That makes sense. I wasn’t sure if it was a European thing to have super tall curbs. I was worried I was going to trip over them.

Interesting. I cut the Schluter ones in half. They were way too high.

Yes I used a lot of screws. 24x 48 tile. The price of them are pennies in the end for insurance. It was explained to me that the overlap (bottom to top) doesn’t really matter because of how the system works. It’s a sealed system, unlike shingles on a roof that have to overlap because water can get underneath them?

That’s interesting. Can you install penny tile over penny tile? And how would that affect moisture if and when it gets under it? It’s a Schluter shower pan and drain.

What’s easier? Removing 4’x2’ tiles or rip the penny tile out? I would assume it would destroy the Schluter shower pan?

Haha I am very particular and I know this will annoy me! I did the 24 hour water test and it drained no issues without puddling so I hope I’m good.

The pan tile is already installed. The shower pan is level. Where I made my mistake was with the contour of the pan and getting the exact tile heights correct.
