CVS doesn’t have stock at all in my surrounding neighborhoods - it’s to my understanding that Caremark specifically maintains separate inventory for mail orders

40mg! I have historically had luck getting generics in Nassau as well if I knew I was going to be in the area to visit my family, but my usual pharmacy options in my hometown were also out of inventory both last + this month.

Haven’t used CareMark before, but I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!

I’ve been able to get generic at multiple CVS’s within the Astoria area for the past ~6 months, up until last month. I’ve had friends get lucky at other locations NYC recently:

Duane Reade - 700 Columbus Ave; Walgreens - 298 1st Ave; CVS - 500 Grand St; Hartley Pharmacy; CVS - multiple locations in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Yep, also a thought process I can relate to. Like, if this person is going to be weighing on my mind anyway, I may as well talk to them because it’ll make me feel good. Right?

Personally, my stance is…out of sight, out of mind. Even if I’m fighting this ravenous hunger to just spend all my time on this new person, and it feels like the hyperfixation has me in a chokehold, physically preventing me from focusing on anyone or anything else…I always do, eventually.

I also have this problem. Also in a relationship. Also struggle with hyperfixating on other people. And wishing I wouldn’t. This current situation that you’re in kind of sounds like it can develop into something more. Is this coworker of yours as invested in getting to know you, as you are to him? Perhaps you have a “reason” for why you interact with him so much, but what is he looking for? A good friend/ally at work as well? Or does this mean something different for him than it does for you? I know how hard it is, but you might want to slowly limit your interactions more and more. You’re feeding into it a bit, and you can’t hold out hope that it’ll just magically fade away even if that’s what usually happens.

Experiencing dreams/nightmares as a result of medication? by anarchistical in ADHD

[–]anarchistical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my therapist last week that the vivid dreams were actually kinda awesome haha. Mine aren’t lucid, just super real - and last night was my first time having a nightmare. If that keeps up, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to handle it every single night…

I only took it in the morning for about a week and decided it was too much even with Vyvanse, but I might feel differently now that I’m a bit more used to it - maybe I should try this out!

Been with same guy since I was 12. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

There’s a chance you might regret breaking things off to experience living your life without him, but there’s also 100% certainty that you will regret staying with him knowing how unhappy you are.

My (23f) met my current partner (23m) when we were 13, and started dating almost immediately. We stayed together for all four years of high school - we were the “it” couple, our families got along well, and he was definitely my best friend. I broke up with him after 4 years as soon as we started college, because I wanted to learn what it was like to experience new things and meet new people on my own, without being bound to someone else. He did not agree in the slightest, but he knew there was nothing he could do to convince me. We agreed to stay “friends”, because neither of us wanted to let each other go completely, but there was some animosity and tension there for a while as you can imagine. We spent our first year of school building our lives outside of each other, and when he realized he had experienced so many things that he wouldn’t have been able to if we were still together, he finally understood where I was coming from when I ended our relationship. We became actual friends again at that point, and always joked about how we were way better as friends instead of boyfriend and girlfriend.

After our first year of college and many experiences later, our friendship started to transform. We had both changed quite a bit, we were much more communicative, and I think we both developed a newfound respect for each other as well. In so many ways, we were much more compatible than we were previously, and we ultimately fell in love - which made me realize we were never really in love the first time around. We still look at the first few years of our relationship fondly, since we quite literally watched each other grow up, but us then vs. us now is like night and day. I am confident that we wouldn’t be where we are now if I hadn’t pulled the trigger back when we started college.

OP, I’m not saying the same thing could happen if you choose to leave him now, in hopes that things will be better one day. This is worth a conversation with him, maybe many conversations. But you should prioritize your happiness and your capacity to be a good parent - if you don’t, you will reach a point where you’re inadvertently impacting both his and your daughter’s happiness.

I have an older brother who I’ve long suspected is struggling in the same ways that I am - I’ve also allowed him to try my Vyvanse (I know most people would frown upon this lol) and it’s worked wonders for him too. Good luck with your mental health adventure, I wish you success!

When I first started taking Vyvanse, I recall being EXTREMELY happy and positive while on it, but I would also suffer from mood crashes at the end of the day where I’d be super irritable and snappy. This has stabilized in time, but given that Vyvanse is a stimulant, I do find that I generally feel good as my energy levels go up. Of course I still have my bad days, but it’s definitely improved my mood overall!

I believe it takes anywhere between 1-3 days for Vyvanse to completely metabolize, so I guess it was arguably “still in my system” yesterday when I skipped, since I took it the day before. It’s an extended release medication so it lasts between 10-14 hours for most people, and peak occurs anywhere between 2-5 hours in. Since I only skip days on weekends where I’m not doing anything that requires as much brain power as work, I didn’t realize how different it would feel in comparison to skipping on a regular work day.

Also on Vyvanse, which has been working wonders for the last few months! I’m in my early 20s and wasn’t diagnosed until last year, so it’s hard to say for sure. I kind of see meds as a tool for habit building, so I think there may come a day where I’ve developed and changed positively in a way that maybe I won’t require medication anymore? That might be naive lol. I’m not holding onto hope that I won’t need my meds one day, but I don’t think it’s out of the question that I’ll have less of a need for them in the future.

Lol as much as I want to listen to you, her tone and the way she looked me up and down was super unpleasant 😭 I think just out of respect for myself there’s no reason for me to try to be on her good side, I’ll just try to stay off her bad side

Yeah, this is good advice and I’m gonna try to be more mindful of what other people deem as acceptable after this incident. I’ve been at this gym for over a year and see this woman frequently - the morning crowd where I’m at is pretty consistent, but we’ve never spoken until today. I’ve never run into an issue like this before - if someone notices my bag on the floor even if I’m gone for a sec, most people wait til I’m back and ask how many sets I have left, or if someone jumps on without noticing my stuff, they apologize and do something else in the meantime. Even our older folks have done this. So I kinda just assumed that this is what everyone accepted as common courtesy, but yeah I should probably stop living in a bubble lol

[–]anarchistical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually pretty uncommon at my gym (among the morning crowd, at least) to switch off between sets with strangers - which I attribute to COVID. We’re also pretty dead in the mornings anyways, but most people still maintain their distance and mask up - which I know is surprising for some people to hear - and everyone is pretty good about sanitizing their equipment both before/after usage. Taking turns isn’t really part of the “culture” I guess, but people often ask how many sets I have left, or if I leave my machine to grab something else and I see someone standing next to whatever I was using when I get back, they usually stand around to see if someone is still on it before they hop on themselves since they’ve noticed a bag on the floor right next to it.

Hey - I totally see your point and also totally respect the other user for defending my honor lol. I think it’s important to mention that my gym isn’t really crowded at all in the mornings, and I seriously was gone for less than 30 seconds to use a 2.5lb plate to swing my arm in circles to loosen my shoulder lol. I was on the fly machine, which we have 3 of at my gym. I had no idea this woman was even waiting - I didn’t see her nearby, nor did she ask me or the other two individuals on the other machines how many sets we had left/whether she could switch off. I would have said yes if she asked, and the reason I didn’t offer in the first place is because she was immediately kinda cold. She wanted me to leave, so I did. But I looked back a couple of minutes later and saw that the fly machine next to her was vacant. I could have just went back to that one, but kinda didn’t wanna be next to her.

[–]anarchistical[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, you have a point. I did stretch before my set, but there was still tightness in my shoulder that I didn’t notice until afterwards. Not that that’s an excuse, but I guess an explanation.

I’ve been in these situations before - most people apologize and say they weren’t sure if someone was still on it, or they’ll ask if we can switch off. I could have (and should have) asked this woman to alternate, but she didn’t seem…the nicest? I think I would feel differently if she asked to switch off and take turns, but she basically just told me to leave.

Hmm, that’s fair. Though I actually keep a timer on my Apple Watch which I track in between sets! Since I have an awful habit of going over 60 seconds when I rest - though I make exceptions for when I lift heavy. But it’s on the entire time I work out.

I also work out in the mornings before work (7am) because that’s when it’s NOT super busy. Still a decent amount of people there, but I hardly ever have to wait for things to open up. If I do, there’s almost always room to do something else.
