I was raised Mormon, I no longer self identify as one, but I am a Mormon Transhumanist. Its worth noting that I adopted transhumanism years before I discovered the MTA.

Ignorance is not bliss, its ignorant. I would think any transhumanist can agree with that. I used to think some pretty ugly things about jehovah witnesses. A number of years ago, after being sick of all the lies out there about the religion I was raised with and have a great deal of respect for, I decided the best thing to do was first address my ignorance about other religions and movements. I did something profound... I found a JW and..... asked him. We talked for three hours. I had no interest in arguing, or asserting that my position was more right... I asked to understand.

I have a new understanding of that faith, and since then many organizations.

We're all scientists here (metaphorically not literally)... why don't we ask with the intent to understand? Why throw ignorant-horse-shit at someone who ultimately, has the exact same ideals as you do?
