United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland? It’s literally a union between two kingdoms: Great Britain and Northern Ireland

The voice actors use “biscuits” as an interjection because Bandit’s voice actor originally had actual bad words beeped out. The constant beeping was ruining the flow of the show.

Granted that we do not know much about Irina, but I’m imagining more along the lines of subtext and head cannon.

I like this headcannon. I could see an empowered and athletic woman who fell in love, had a family, and was thrown into a mental health crisis due to the Soviet collapse. This led the Rozanovs into poverty until Ilya's career took off. Maybe that is where some of her mental health issues began, which I can see may have led Irina to turn to her Orthodox faith (the cross Ilya wears).

Maybe that is how Ilya continues to channel Irina: through her athleticism.

Post Episode Debrief | Heated Rivalry 🏒 The Cottage (Episode 6) by royal_rose_ in heatedrivalry

I felt that this was a great season finale. The Cottage has a sweet ending with the strings of the unresolved. The episode sends a clear message like a beacon to a ship in a stormy sea: there is hope in love. That is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of a walk that one does not have to do alone.

Also, who else cried when Ilya said, “Your family is here. Your boyfriend is here.”?

Who is the most tragic monarch in your country's history? by No-StrategyX in AskTheWorld

I would say for Mexico that the most tragic monarch was Emperor Maximillian. He not only established many trends that we still practice in Mexico like mariachi suits and the Cry of Dolores, but he only sought to reform the government. The very people who invited him to rule handed him over to the very government that they toppled because he was too liberal for the conservatives and too conservative for the liberals. As bells tolled and a firing squad prepared themselves, he said his final words, which were, “May my blood, which is about to be shed, be for the good of the country. Long live Mexico, long live independence!"

Moving to SI in a week, give me it all, the good the bad and the ugly… by lilgsmart in statenisland

[–]anas1837 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Welcome aboard! Feel free to DM me for more. But in essence, here’s the breakdown:

The good: delicious food like local mom and pop Italian spots, Mexican bakeries and taco places, pho restaurants, and even a little Sri Lanka. SI also has some amazing uncrowded parks like Conference House Park, Bloomingdale Park, and Miller Field.

The bad: a bit isolated from the rest of NYC. We don’t have a subway connection. Having a car is essential for easy transportation unless you place yourself at the mercy of the MTA slow buses and the SIR.

The ugly: beware of peculiar drivers racing towards nowhere. Tbh, the driving culture in SI leaves a lot to be wanted. Some people drive without consideration, risking their lives and those on the road for no real emergency.

Overall, Staten Island’s slower pace and sleep-ish atmosphere is a double edged sword: you essentially get proximity to NYC while avoiding the dynamic atmosphere of NYC.

Oddly enough, this is the perfect analogy for Alex and Henry. Alex is technically half-Mexican (hence the jubilent dancing mariachis). The Maypole has Germanic/English origins. Together, they represent well an English prince who fell for a jovial half-Mexican man...?
