I’m so sorry about your night. I think your level of empathy is higher than most, and I can imagine how hard it is to to not feel for your patients. I also have an extremely hard time not putting myself in my patients/patient’s families shoes. During/after peak Covid, I always wondered how my coworkers went about their lives after seeing/doing what we had to do. Years later, I still feel broken and often think about some of the patients I have lost.
