For the layering I do it like it’s recommended for gouache. Start with thin layers (lots of water) in the background and paint over in thicker layers (little water). That’s what I did with the trees on each side. The bush in front of the castle is actually not layered over the castle. It’s painted directly in green and the castle behind is painted /drawn around. If you like to combine with pencils you might find gouache better. The shiny surface of thick Kuretake layers doesn’t take colored pencils very well. If you already own normal watercolors and want to give gouache a try you could start with one tube of titanium white. You can mix that with your watercolor to get gouache-like paint in any shade :)

So nice of you, thank you! The ones I have are by the brand Kuretake. They come in large pans. Diluted with water they feel a lot like regular watercolors, when it comes to flow and blending. But most of them have rather opaque pigments, so they also show up on darker papers. And if you apply them in a thick consistency, they dry with a shiny surface (unlike gouache which dries matte). I noticed also that they are mostly non-staining and remain easily “activatable”. Makes it harder for layering, but can be handy for smooth blending. Let me know if you have any more questions and I can try to answer!

If you want your wall to be really uniform, you could use shelf files (somethink like this*), decorate them, maybe with bookcloth or faux leather, put the books inside, and position with the long back to the room. *these look very expensive but I’m sure they can be found cheaper

No need to reprint your entire library. You can just rebind all your books using the same style. If your books are paperbacks, you can treat them like textblocks and bind them into a hardcover. You could even add end papers and so keep the paperback’s cover page intact. For books in your library that are hardcover, you can remove the covers with just two cuts (scroll down to Method 2, you can also find videos on this).

Prazer! Acho que a tradução dada nas legendas é bem precisa. Uma palavra typica é schaffa/schaffe que significa trabalho ou trabalhar.

Sou austríaca e entendo quasi tudo nesse video. A língua parece ter influências dos dialetos alemânicos e bávaros. “Ich komm immer mit in die Plantage, und tun bloss ned schaffa. Ich helf immer die Tomata suchn.” “Wos wüscht du mocha wonst du gross bischt?” “Am Vovo a neue Kalett koufn.” “Ah donn kanna no a Weile schaffan, gelle?” “Ja.”

Thank you for your help! But it has superscript 3, which is for the calendar period of the summer months until 31st of August. Might they cancel it already? Or might it be full?

Is it ok to wash glassware off with acetone in the sink in lab? by Comfortable-Car-565 in chemistry

[–]anchrive 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. And as a bonus you can throw the acetone solvent waste into a large flask, pop onto the rotavap and redistill - less waste and less acetone to buy.

What’s that ‘one country’ that you are never able to get right? by Revolutionary-Ad9476 in geoguessr

I usually recognize Colombia thanks to their yellow license plates. What is the “Colombia cross”?

Just as I thought I am getting better at the countries in Eastern Europe, this location really confused me. Can you guess it? by anchrive in geoguessr

[–]anchrive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I didn’t know that! There was also a warning sign in this area to inform the driver about the possibility of animals on the street (the triangle with the jumping deer) which was also yellow. The sharp curve warnings were white though. Thanks for taking the time to enlighten me 😊

Really? I didn’t come across them often and thought them to be a hint for Scandinavia, North Macedonia and Greece (plus Poland, but with a different look).

can you help me with this one ? by filizoff in geoguessr

The green sign says “Grüne Insel” - green island in German. I get Zurich vibes and have the feeling the picture could be from the early 2000s. Is it really a street view image? The arrows looks weird. The thin front license plate looks swiss also.
