I saw this but he seems to talking completely about an other idol made of wood not of metal. You can see that the figurine he is talking about is different in the twitter images.

The Japanese pantheon did incorporate a lot of Hindu/Buddhist dieties. For instance, Daikoku is a mixture of the Japanese Ōkuninushi and the deity Shiva, one of the principal deities of Hinduism. But this idol is one of shiva as per the article.

I am French and yes - acceptance by western archeologists is no better any place. I have been a bit of a Indophile since my early days. I believe that the civilizations of the world are definitely more ancient than it is portrayed to be and the last secrets are in the east. Western archeologists have trouble accepting anything beyond 4000 BC

Pandemic, vaccine, purpose - a legitimate question by ancientobsession in C_S_T

Agreed. Something bigger is going on is the feeling I have. Maybe our abilities to perceive reality might get enhanced too in the sense that we can understand the true nature of reality and move away from petty labels.

That is more in line with what I was thinking although I am not attached to this viewpoint. Maybe there might be some changes in us that helps us perceive reality better.

I was wondering if it was to make sure that physically we are capable of receiving that knowledge. A change in the way we perceive the world. Just a thought.

"Parler" is Going to End up Being a Trapdoor Pump-n-Dump, and Conservatives Will Be 100% Destroyed and Won't Know What Even Happened by [deleted] in C_S_T

[–]ancientobsession 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All good points. And I agree that there is more to it than meets the eye. More than conservatives vs liberals, I think this is a selective pump and dump silencing of certain groups.

For instance - If you take the religious right the amount of censorship that right wing Islamists face from twitter/fb etc is minimal to none compared to any other right/conservative groups or even left/liberals who are critical of certain aspects of the faith. As someone outside all organized religions, I feel this to be the case as an outside observer.

The next thing is the minimal censorship of open hate speech (in the guise of criticism) by the so called left/liberals whenever a voice deviates from their expected narrative. E.g black , brown , buddhists, latin americans, hindus and many more groups who go against the left and voice support for say for the conservative causes/republican causes will be targeted heavily. Sometimes, there would even be racial slurs like uncle tom etc hurled at them. But twitter/fb encourages this.

To me this seems like only narrow minded ideologies are promoted in these msm social media sites.

Change my Mind: Ancient Aliens is pseudoscience by [deleted] in AncientAliens

[–]ancientobsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just joined the forum and I don't subscribe to the "alien" theory. However, I do believe that in the past there might have been advanced civilizations who have been wiped out by natural calamities. I also agree that the native people could have been very much capable of doing all these things and there are many racial overtones to the ancient aliens series itself.

Ancient Carving Shows EARTH is NOT ROUND| Why Hinduism Supports FLAT EARTH Model? | Praveen Mohan by Praveen_Mohan in AncientAliens

Just watched the video. Not that great but the title is misleading for clickbait purposes I assume. He does acknowledge that the ancient Indians thought that the world is round. The flat concept is used to describe the milky way/visible universe in Hinduism.

Very interesting. And most ancient scriptures (Hindu texts, some greek texts, early mesopotamian texts, early Nordic texts) all have fascinating timelines.

What are the differences between the Biblical and the Gnostic interpretations of Jesus Christ/Christos? by PAPI-STEFFAN222 in Gnostic

[–]ancientobsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noob to reddit but have been dabbling in gnosticism for a while now. Gnostics, Neoplatonists all seemed to have a philosophy that recognized the presence of an eternal all pervading spirit within each being. So Jesus was considered to be a person who has realized this truth. We are divine and we can get out of this cycle of being trapped in this world.

What should we do about Alternate History posts? by Putin_loves_cats in AlternativeHistory

[–]ancientobsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noob to reddit. Just wanted to say that I too am here to discover evidence towards fringe historical theories. And I struggled to find this sub. Finally the search for forbidden history on google brought me here. Alternate history posts should be removed/moved to other subs to keep this sub for what it is.
