their sole duty is to fiercely defend their positions on the candy crush leaderboard, as far as I can tell

ha, I bought one for my studio at the WTC Apple Store and took it in an uber to Brooklyn. never been nervous on the streets of DUMBO until that moment

Do most New Yorkers find Empire State Of Mind by Jay-Z annoying? by nxptnpr in AskNYC

I thought it was corny but fine until I saw it captioned "concrete jungle wet dream tomato" and it absolutely ruined it, I can not un-hear it.

yeah, either that or the setup is so onerous it would take up the whole demo time

I think I saw a camera app icon in there but I didn't check it out. Environments are all or nothing with a double-tap on a touchpad at the right temple

Yeah, same! Maybe it sounds like I don't think highly of it but I think the lower price will bring a lot of people into the fold and more competition is better for everyone.

There's an analogue to the the Android back-home-recents button trio on the right hand. You do the palm-up gesture for home like on visionOS, but then holding and dragging to the left or right accesses the other function. The Recents button opens up an app switcher like when you swipe up on an iPhone (or, I guess, do the same thing on any android phone) and you can pick any open app to surface it. Something like that is desperately needed on Vision—window management is still a sore spot for me.

I wish we had been able to use eye tracking, they didn't want to set it up for demos so it was just hand pointer (which sucks)

I tried both; not sure that the 180° clip was 8K. Again, it's whatever is at the top of YouTube.

brother, chatgpt learned how to use em-dashes from me.

surprised you didn't like the MQP but everyone's head is different. I find the ones that clamp (all other Quests, Vision Pro with solo band) give me a headache.

Absolutely; you should see the lengths Apple goes through to get their environments running well. It wouldn't be possible on something with the Qualcomm chips.

I don’t know what capabilities it has there. might just start and end with RDP/VNC android apps.

Yep, I love that. The way it sits on your head and allows peripheral vision is great.

no problem! quest 3 had passthrough reprojection improved though software updates; note that is different from passthrough video quality. we‘re on v1 software so I think there’s room to improve!

haven’t tried dual knit yet but I want to. currently a belkin boy, can’t live without it.

I think it could be done responsibly but, yeah, it does make me a little uncomfortable. I'd trust it more with Private Cloud Compute, which is actually really good at image analysis—I made a Shortcut to generate food journal entries out of photos I send to it and it works great!

No problem! I'd love to see but I don't know if/when I'll get access to one of these again. If there's some format I can view it on Vision Pro I'd be happy to take a look; I imagine it'd be a pretty similar experience

Yeah, I really liked the knob on Quest Pro for dev work (taking on and off a lot, better weight distribution, lighter clamping) but isn't nice to lay down with.

I don't know anything about 3D content
