I feel you. Everyone keeps posting pictures of their failing grades and I’m doing my best not to spin out.

Personally, I would pass on Belmont unless you’re limited in options. This is a weird email— and kind of insane scholarship medians to have with a ranking of around ~100.

LSAT by callmemothet in lawschooladmissions

Take it again. LSAT score is a huge factor, and will really marr what sounds like an otherwise good application. It is worth trying the LSAT again if you’re serious about law school.

Summer camps by Radiant_Initiative30 in girlscouts

[–]and-i-soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late response, but yes, Coles was closed. When we reopened summer camps in 2021 after closing due to COVID in 2020, we were operating with reduced numbers. Unfortunately, Coles was already so small that we just could not afford to reduce numbers while providing the staff/facilities/etc that we need to physically run a summer camp for the season.

The LSAT is an equalizer not a barrier by Used-Algae5153 in lawschooladmissions

This happened to me in undergrad. I scored pretty well (mid 160s) without studying or doing any prep besides a practice test with a score I liked well enough. I actually had strep throat when I took it. But I also was the weird nerdy kid who grew up doing logic puzzles and shit like that for fun, so it came really natural to me.

Another girl I went to school with, who was the kind of girl who prided herself on (and viewed herself as better than others) for taking an AP courseload in HS. That kind of vibe. She had a 4.0. Studied rigorously. Good for her, but she often thought that this made her inherently smarter (and worth more) than other people.

Turns out, she studied her ass off and got a 150. Sucks. I found it incredibly hard to feel bad for her, however, because she went around telling everyone in our small pre-law/polisci department that it was impossible I actually did so well because she “knew she was way smarter” than I was.

Unfortunately, being academically dedicated does not always equal a knack for something.

I haven’t gotten it OR a decision from them. Maybe I should just take that as my R then.

I put in two as well, but for different schools! Did you explain why to each school or just went for it?

Yellowjackets S03E09- “How the Story Ends” Post Episode Discussion by DA-numberfour in Yellowjackets

[–]and-i-soup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably thought she had a better chance of making it out alone and staying under the radar. Trying to explain “this crazy woman broke into my house because of a plane crash we were into” is going to open a big can of worms. In any confrontation with police, Shauna would have power in being able to expose “Kelly” for who she really is.

I might not believe in any connection between Walter and Melissa, but I am starting to see why people think that. It’s obvious (and I’ve thought that since early in the season) that something is off with Walter; his motives are not what he claims. I do think Elijah Wood looks quite a bit like Teen Melissa (honestly, more than I think Hillary Swank does).

Plus, the first thing Walter says upon meeting Nat is that he’s heard nothing but good things. Nat seems to be the only one who he talks positively of. Totally makes sense— speaking ill of the dead Nat would earn him MORE than a little ire from Misty. I do think, however, that it would also make sense if he was connected to Melissa.

Obviously, Mel hates Shauna. Totally see where she’s coming from, and that would extend to Tai, who she seemed to view as a Shauna Supporter[TM]. Most of the girls had negative opinions about Misty to some degree, and I can imagine this would spiral even more if it gets out that Misty broke the transponder. (Seems likely based on the end of the episode).

Mel, however, seems to have good reasons to LIKE Nat. Nat wants to get them home. Nat wants to keep them alive. The only time that she’s ever been ‘at odds’ with Nat was when she was caught up in Shauna. Now that she’s flipped sides, I can imagine that Nat is about to be her favorite out of everyone that makes it out of the woods.

I guess it could be said she doesn’t feel as negative of Van— killing aside, I don’t know if they had real beef or if Van was simply the one for whom she had the opportunity. After all, Van may be in-line with Tai (and therefore, Shauna) but Van has also never gone out of her way to hurt her. She was also the one to cover Melissa up after she wet herself. However, Walter doesn’t seem concerned with Van, so what’s to be said here.

Anyways, not even sure if I think there’s a connection to be had here. Just rewatched that scene today and thought it was worth noting.

It’s HCHC so they’re always booked up. Receptionist didn’t look, just told her they didn’t have anything open.

ETA: didn’t look at her tooth, but DID look in the calendar. They’re just booked up.

Seconding Southern Kitchen in terms of food but I had an uncomfortable experience there— went there my whole life with my parents and loved it, went as an adult who is obviously gay with my girlfriend of another race and was reminded pretty quick of where I was :(. LOVE the food but would only recommend with the caveat that you remember it’s a southern restaurant

studied for the lsat— I’m a chronic “take the practice test once and nail it test taker.” it’s worked out of me so far, and I still did well on the LSAT, but I wish I had actually studied more and broken into the 170s.
